Try making chocolates, its something you could do with your bridesmaids and mother and soon to be mother in law, it will save you money. you can find chocolate molds on line, one would be Wilton.com
another idea try using a Hersey hug and a Hersey kiss in a box with a dove promise that says "a hug a kiss and a promise", or my cousin did a Hersey hug and kiss with both bottoms against a penny wrapped to look like a rose and used the expression "a kiss from the bride a hug from the groom and a penny for luck"

I went to a wedding where they gave out the 'wedding soundtrack'. It included the songs of the first dance, father/bride, mother/groom songs and stuff like that. All homemade from their PC. Go to a bulk store to find a bunch of blank CDs so burn and paper for the cover. This was the only wedding favor from every wedding i've been to that I actually kept!

Unless you can eat it on the way home, which doesn't happen because they are so full, most favors end up in the trash before the happy couple arrives at their honeymoon. Usually it's a gross waste Spend your money more wisely.
As far as the CDs that people suggest, those are against copyright laws. And though it's doubtful the police will raid your reception, it is still something you should consider.

we have something a little strange... we are alternating with 2 different favours, which works well cause most people come in pairs.
There will be around 50 glass baubles (really cheap after christmas) filled with half rice, half pot purri of a similar colour to the bridesmaids dresses. It's half rice partially to give the baubles some weight- but also because it is much cheaper than the potpurri- and you don't really need all that much of it to get the wonderful smell.
Around 50 Cello bags of red licorice with a magnet photo of myself and hubby to be. The magnets can be printed on in big sheets and cut up at our local copy store for very little.
All up we are spending around 70-80 AUD all up for 100 people (thats $50-$60 US)

At my wedding we gave our engagement picture as a wedding favor. Our photographer made them in wallet size with our name and wedding date on them. I thought this was nice because it was something that everybody enjoyed and actually kept, rather than napkins and matches.

CD's with music that ya'll love for memories. Candles with or without (candle vases) wrapped in laced with a special personalized tags. Small chocolates wrapped with ya'll names and dates. Good Luck in your search for wedding favors. FYI: You can always go to the Dollar stores to create some good ideas. Also, go to Michaels.com and ACMoore.com.

If you have a colour theme, then why not wrap up small bags of that colour jelly beans in clear bags with coloured ribbon? You can typically find huge bags of jelly beans at confectionary warehouses and when you divide them up between all the individual bags they work out only a dollar or two a bag.

We're doing mini champagne bottles and boxes of Belgian chocolate coated strawberries. But then we have less than 20 guests so it is not costing much, it could get very expensive with more than 20 guests.

Buy kitkats and get labels for your computer. Print you and your husbands name, the wedding date and some different wedding clipart, remove the kitkat wrapper and stick it around the kitkat! So cheap!!!
