I am 14 and have never had a boyfriend or have never been kissed. My friend also is the same way but everybody makes fun of her and calls her a lesbian. Is this true because most people don't have their first bf/gf until they are like 16....right?

people are weird. a lot of teens today have the opinion that to be cool, you have to kiss someone, like, the day you get into highschool. but it's so much cooler to wait till you find the right guy to date/kiss. I'm your age, and i've never kissed a guy, or even gone out with one. It makes your first bf feel a lot specialer if he knows you've been waitin for him.

It depends.......some girls/boys like to date when only 13 or 14yrs of age, .......I think it's way too young. Some start dating at 16 and some wait until a lil older than that. When having a relationship it takes alot of work*..and right now you should focus on school.
It's fine to go out with a bunch of people (girls and boys) to the show, or ice skating........but at 14....it's not abnormal to not have had a boyfriend or even a kiss.....DONT rush into things......you have all the time in the world., it just starts getting complicated. Neither you or your friend are "lesbians" for not having kissed a fellow* IGNORE the people that are hounding your friend for not having a b/friend. Kids can be so cruel. Just ignore them. Enjoy being a teen*

Don't listen to those idiots. There's no specific age for your first kiss. Not being kissed by 14 is HARDLY a sign that your friend is a lesbian. The other kids just want something mean to say, and I'll BET even some of those who are making smart remarks, haven't been kissed and haven't had a boyfriend/girlfriend yet either!

is it true that she's a lesbian? ask her, she'll tell you. but just because you don't have a boyfriend till a certain age it doesn't make you a lesbian. I started dating when I was 11, which is very young. but i know a lot of girl who haven't dated yet, and they're 17/18 i know some who have been single their whole life and they're 33 and 26. it's not because they can't get a boyfriend, it's cause they don't want one. don't worry about what other people say or think. the only thing that matters is how you feel in your heart.

i still havent had a "real" boyfriend and im 19!! i mean ive dated guys and stuff but nothing too serious. i just really enjoy being single better. it all just depends on the person really. and no she's not a lesbian just cuz she didnt have a boyfriend yet. your only 14 you have time. most people i know didn't get into serious relationships until 18 or even 20 years old. take advantage of being single!

You're young and I am assuming your friend is also of same age as you. Ignore the insensitive morons who call her lesbian or names like that.. There is no such age as mandatory to have a bf/gf. When love have to happen to you, trust me it'll and it'll be lot better than thinking so much about it and going out to find someone just for sake of having a bf/gf. Enjoy your age, you get to be 14 just once... Good luck.

thats lame. There should be no rush! I mean seriously, you have the rest of your life right?

And when it comes to sex and all of that. People that young don't know what they are doing! It usually ends up in a negative experience.

I am older now, 28, but when I was in high school, most of my friends did not have "boy friends" until 16-17.. or older.

Really, the girls who where getting into stuff at 14 ish... ended up labeled sluts.

Not that its right, but that is what happened.

Yes some people do not find their first true boyfriend until they are around that age. There is nothing wrong with your friend, as the matter of fact, it's good that she isn't thinking of a serious relationship at her age. Tell her to keep her head up! The right guy will come along! GLuck!

I'm 16 and I've never had either of those occur. Some people make it into their 20's without ever dating anyone. It's perfectly normal, Just don't worry about it, theres way more important things to think about.. like education. And keep in mind.. You'll find your someone.

You never know, you could meet someone in high school that'll change your perspective on everything. anything is possible.

16 or 17 is a much better age for a b/f. You will be more mature and ready to handle a relationship than at 14. Don't listen to your friends.
