You're looking at an 18 mile hike through 2 counties (Lumpkin & Union). The elevation drops 50 feet going from Woody towards Neels Gap & then climbs when you get closer to Hogpen. Going to Hogpen will be more dificult because you have to go up Wildcat Mtn. Wildcat Mtn is the most difficult part of the AT...It is a very sharp incline and that's going to take anyone a long time to get up (it raises up to 800 ft) but after that, it is a series of easy switchbacks down to Hogpen. If you're not sure about it, stop at Neels and turn back...but if you're in good shape & really want to do the whole hike...it isn't too difficult. Good Luck & enjoy! It's beautiful out there!!
