we all know that the germans pretty much honored the white and red arm band even before it was made illegal to shoot at a medic, but do the iraqis? i was just wondering. sorry if my facts aren't all straight here, but yeah.

No they do not, in fct there is a good video of a iraqi sniper shooting a medic, but his armor saved him, he called in help, they caught him, he was wounded, and then the medic who was shot by him treated him for his wounds. Thats the different between American Soldiers and terrorists. link to the story and video.

I *believe* but could be wrong, that it's the Geneva Convention codes that say it's wrong to target medics, but either way, no, the insurgents don't honor any form of "civilized" military practice or rules of engagement. They make their own women pull carts loaded with explosives to allied checkpoints, there's nothing to keep them from shooting an enemy medic. That said, the medics do get weapons to carry in the field and even if they have to go out in the open alone to help a wounded soldier, the rest of the team is watching their back.

as a rule,medics are part oif the army.their duty is to give medical care to their casualties as 1st priority,if battle ends,they may give help to the wounded of the opposing fighters as a humam help .therefore all the battle rules are applied on them,because they support their army.they differ from the red cross who is absolutly nutral.
it is natural that any fighter who adhers with cavalary values is highly respected by every body though he is an enemy.because ,fighting has ethics.and iraqies dont differ from others.

Army medics don't wear an armband any longer and carry weapons to defend themselves. However, they are not allowed to man heavy weapons systems.
If the insurgents kill innocent people with suicide bombers, why would they care if an American is a medic or not?

The medics in todays military carry a weapon so they can defend themselves. Many combat medics in WWII didn't carry a weapon because they claimed conscientious objector and were made a medic.

The insurgents in Iraq honor no code. They kill women, children , medics, doctors, anyone.
THE INSURGENTS IN IRAQ ARE MOSTLY IRANIANS, SYRIANS, JORDANIANS, EGYPTIANS, ETC. VERY FEW ARE IRAQI'S
MOST IRAQI'S DO NOT WANT US TO LEAVE. THE ONLY ONES WHO WANT US TO LEAVE ARE THE INSURGENTS MENTIONED ABOVE AND THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!!!!! AND REPUBLICANS WHO ARE BRAINWASHED AND TO SCARED TO STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT WITH THE PRESIDENT.
