you make it sound as if people should be treated a certain way simply because they share the same genetics. i treat all of the people i know, friend and relative, in accordance with the way they live their lives, not based on to whom they are related. and i would expect nothing different from them.

Sounds like my sister! It does hurt my feelings because she is my only sibling. We are only 2 years apart in age. We were pretty close growing up, but when we reached high school we really started drifting apart. Soon after high school, I got married, she didn't, I had kids, she didn't... Basically our lives became very different. We hardly ever see each other even though we only live a couple miles apart. I used to invite her over but she would never come to visit. Pretty soon, I just had to accept that she was not ever going to become the close sister that I would like to have and I started to get on with my life.

I did speak to my sister a couple times about my feelings though. In my case, it didn't do much good, but you could try talking to your sibling. Maybe they don't know they are making you feel bad.

No, it happens. They may see you in the same light with your friends. They will even seem to treat their other-half more like family than you as time goes on. and vise versa.

Talk to them sibling rivalry skews ones vision
