i love and care for my best friend a lot. he tells me everything, and i`m there for him all the time. i`m one of the few people who he depends on. i`ve liked him for a very long time now, about 6 months? he`s currently seeing someone right now. im happy just as long as he`s happy, but it hurts when i have to listen to him talk about the girl he is seeing. i`ve also been worrying because he hasnt talked to me in a few days. i feel distant from him, and knowing that i`m not even his best friend anymore saddens me even more. i try talking to him, but the conversations are soo dull now that he doesnt even bother to IM or call me anymore. Can i still try to talk to him and save our friendship, or just leave it and lose my bestfriend..

Well you're not alone, just keep that in mind. Theres a lot of people going through the EXACT same situation, including myself.. (except, its the opposite sexes) Stay happy, its not worth the time to be sad!
and as I'm trying to do.. Definitely try and keep in touch as much with your friend as possible. A relationship should not damage a friendship between you two or anyone. If possible, let him know how you feel about the situation. (like how you feel distant from him) Maybe that'll make him realize something.
I guess when people are in relationships.. they lose focus on the important people in their lives... Friends.
I'm sure when their relationship comes to a closure.. Things will return back to normal for you and him. That sort of thing happens with me and my friends, so i assume its normal?
Above all, I think you should talk to some close friends in person about it. Its good that you've come here to get peoples opinions and answers on things but your friends know you well and will most probably comfort you and help you stay optimistic about everything. Change is always happening, so its very possible whats going on now is just temporary. Good Luck!

Wow girly, I can only tell you that the same exact thing happened to me. The only thing was that we weren't that much of best friends, but I fell in love with him. I was scared to tell that i liked him because I thought it would ruin our friendship. Somethings i think I should have told him. But in the end I was the one who came out winning. He went down the wrong path and today he's a loser. what I got out of it the experience of falling in love, and growing from the mistakes i made.
And maybe, I think, that if he's doesn't want to talk to you, Its not worth it. But if he does he will come at his own time. Because no matter what best friends always stick together, unless they're not meant to be.
On the other hand, what you have to do is just give him space, don't stress it, because it will only make you feel bad, and just have fun. Your only 14 and there's so much for you to do. Believe me I've been there, and i wish I would have had more fun at your age. And no matter what, there are so many people that can take his place if it doesn't work out. Always be positive. you make the choices in your life. Just make sure its what you want. I know it sounds like big cliche but its true.

Such is unrequitted love. Feel the darkness and hurt in your heart. Learn from it. I know this for a fact. Since my last relationship ended horribly (almost 5 years ago) I learned that I dont need my heart. Having given up on women (not gay) I can offer you this advice:
He doesn't want to be any more than just friends. Deal with it. Get over it. If he wanted to be with you he alreadly would. Find somebody else.

i know how u feel. he probably figured out that u like him, boys arent as stupid as they look. guys are non confrontational beings so hes probably not talking to you to avoid awkwardness, or maybe his girlfriend got jealous and told him to stop talking to you. ask him whats up, he'll be honest if hes really your friend. whatever you do dont tell him u like him if hes still with his girlfriend
