I believe people have a genetic predisposition for illness Dr's differ in that they say no it isn't heredity, I say 100% yes
Ex: Cancer, addictions (anyone with a smart a@# answer keep it to yourself until you have done longitudinal research), obesity, vision, height, weight, hair color, eyes, intelligence, good grief already, same blood type as one parent the other, same nose, we all have a genetic code. and susceptibility to illness falls into that spectrum.
now especially autoimmune disorders, I have fibromyalgia which is in the same family as Lupus but these types of disorders are really hard to be defined by medicine, I fully believe that genes for disease exist w/in us whether or not we become an active carrier b\vs not is a whole other subject

Lupus is an autoimmune disease-not related to the chicken pox(viral).
Autoimmune disease are hereditary and there are many kinds. My sister has Lupus!

Lupus is the chicken pox virus gone bad . . . very bad. But it's still the chicken pox virus. The only genetic part of getting that is your genetic disposition towards getting ANY virus.

No. It's not hereditary. It's more common in women than men and it's an autoimune disease.
