I think the feeling like a robot is apart of the symptoms and that you are not thinking as if the brain isn't there. Usually there is an end to pain but confusion is very strong. Soon you will not feel tired. This is also called a psychotic episode and the brain loses part or all connection to the world around. What can you do ? Nothing it is not a time when you can think. Only your people can direct you .

Has something bad happened to you lately that would make you feel this way ? Are you somewhat of a loner-type ? You're not the only one, believe me. Just hold on and take one day at a time...one hour at a time and if you don't have anyone to talk it over with, then talk to God if you believe in him. If not, then just tell yourself that tomorrow may be better, you never know. Try exercising to release stress and pent up emotions. Watch movies or do something you enjoy...read, whatever. Or just think about things and allow yourself to have a good, long cry...if you're male or female, it doesn't matter. It'll help release some emotions and maybe tomorrow you'll have a new perspective on life. Hang on and take care.

You need to see a doctor. He/she can help you! (Severe Depression is very treatable!)
The term "nervous breakdown" is used by the public to characterize a wide range of mental illnesses. Nervous breakdown is not a medical term and doesn't indicate a specific mental illness. Generally, the term describes a person who is severely and persistently emotionally distraught and unable to function at his or her normal level.
Often, when people refer to having a nervous breakdown, they're describing severe depression. Signs and symptoms of severe depression include:
Agitation or restlessness
Difficulty or inability to stop crying
Sleeping difficulties
Dramatic appetite changes
Indecision
The causes of mental illness usually aren't clear. But these factors may play a role:
Stress
Drug and alcohol use
Coexisting medical conditions, such as thyroid disorders and certain vitamin deficiencies
Genetics
Good luck & God Bless!

You don't usually know when you have one. I had one and I didn't know what was wrong. I thought I was dying.
