Ok, I know this sounds funny, but I was spying on my son playing with his " little guy " and he allowed the cat to watch his indecent assault on himself. Now wouldn't a normal young man get rid of the cat before treating himself like an amusement park ? I've taken his goldfish out of his room as a precautionary move, I don't want to hear any splashing at night when I"m trying to get some sleep. I have called his teachers to let them know that there will be no pets allowed at the weekly " show and tell ". I've talked to my wife and she thinks I"m overreacting so I slapped her for talking back to me while I'm in a parental nightmare. I"m just not sure what to do, I"ve cancelled the discovery channel and got rid of all national geographic magazines and cancelled our trip to the San Diego Zoo..what more can I do ? any suggestions ?

I don't think you should be concerned. We are all sexual beings, by that I mean that we all are born with those organs and we are also born with sensitivity in those areas. I have read books on Parenting and Children and have read that this specific or similar behaviour has been observed in babies even. They are curious, they explore (that is how they learn) and they FEEL. Those areas are sensitive and he likes the feeling. This is normal. Do not make a big deal of it since it may cause negative reactions such as a complex or he may even do it when seeking attention. Let him explore and hopefully he will tire of this discovery soon. Of course keep a discreet eye on him. Choose a moment when he is not doing this particular activity and address it in a very respectful, calm and loving manner as no big deal. Just educate him in that certain behaviour is not acceptable in public (explain why) and try finding out why he does it. He may be too young for this but you say he is advanced, this might help. Children are very smart. This is just advice based on some things I have read and my parenting beliefs. Please take it as that. Thank you. I hope it all turns out in the best possible way.

Are you serious?
1) It's normal for any boy to play with himself, as you put it.

2) Does it really matter if there's an animal in the room?

3) What's the point in not letting your son bring a pet to school during show and tell? his playing with himself has nothing to do with his pets, even if his cat and goldfish (omg) were in the room.

4) why would you slap your wife? if you slap her for saying youre overreacting to this situation, really how many other times do you hit her for doing anything else? asshole

5) chill the f*ck out!

OMG! I think you're going a biiiit far there... taking away Discovery Channel??? I think I'd die without it!
I think if your 12-year-old son is 'playing' with himself you should talk to you him about a few things lol. I wouldn't be worried about the cat watching him. It's a cat! Who cares?! And you took the fish out of his room? lol you slapped your wife??? Ok, now I think someone needs to talk to you about a few things. On second thought... get your head on straight before you sit down and talk to your kid. Just calm down. He's 12... if he's more interested in cats than girls it might be a good thing. Girls are stupid... (yeah I know I'm a girl)

You should consider COMEDY CENTRAL OR STANDUP COMEDY, I bet some people will be stupid enough to play your game and respond but what a trip, your cute, playing with the internet becuase of your limited ability to possess a life. They do make support groups for people like you, or try a short bus transportation they can take to you to your "classes" when you go onto medication overload, the world needs special people like I wonder if someone had a sense of humor when they made you

I think this is a severe overreaction. Just because the cat happend to be in there means nothing. Your son is normal.
Please check out this website that explaines alot about puberty with young boys.

Hey, as long as the cat is not participating then its cool. Once the cat is involved then you may need to get counseling for the cat.

Buy some beatiality pornos and embrace...lol....the kids going threw a weird phase so what, you wouldn't call his teacher and tell him to remove all the girls from the class room would you? Let him be what he's going to be. Sounds like your the one with the real problem if you slapped your wife....your concerned, deal with it in a healthy manner though, talk to him about it. Rather invite him to talk to you about it in an unthreatening enviorment. Could be worse dude..lighten up, no one's perfect
