This question seems to come up a lot. You are either a Mormon or know a Mormon, so here is my experience:

I date a Mormon girl for three years. Three years being with her, her family, in her ward, seeing her temple. I have numerous teachers and I love the family life style. But eternal marriage is reserved for Mormons, and to be a Mormon requires belief. A belief that I did not have.

There are prophets (messengers) who reveal "truths". For Mormons that includes Joseph Smith and successors. Mormons believe this and send their children (missionaries) to teach others. The Mormon life style is all of nothing.

Yes I like Mormons, but do Mormons really like non Mormons. But to be with a Mormon, you better be a Mormon. Somethings you can believe or not. The not leaves you separated.

Why do you ask?

The LDS as a religious sect is, like all organized religions, fraught with corruption and greed. I have many friends, relatives and acquaintances that are Mormon and like everybody else they are good, bad and in between. The LDS will not hire people as managers or supervisors who are not LDS. They try to keep this low key but just try getting a good job in Utah or Southern Idaho if you are not a Mormon. This is unfortunate as it is a corruption of the teachings of Jesus. The Mormons are also considered by the Jews to be of the lost tribe of Israel.

I attended a Mormon church for almost 8 years (but never became a member). Much of my family and friends are members. I think Mormons are generally good people, and I like the way they focus on family. It is just the religion I do not like. Nothing wrong with the people though.

Mormons are mostly nice people. Of course I do not measure people by their religion.

What do I like about mormonism? I like most of what they teach, especially about family unity. As to what I do not like, I guess it is not correct to say anything in this forum.

Mormons believe that god sent some tablets to Joseph Smith who was a prophet. These tablets contained the book of mormon. When his wife stole them, he wrote a completely different book (second time's a charm).

I think mormon people are really nice. They respect me for being an atheist and for the most part don't try to impose their beleifs on me. I have lots of mormon friends and we get into some good debates sometimes.

I think Mormons are very discipline and I respect their honest committment to living a holy life. At the same time, I think their extra prophet is wrong, and their book is too.

- It's true, I've never met a Mormon I didn't like ( and I wish I could say the same for Catholics).

I am Buddhist , but used to know 2 Mormon "Elders" who used to come to my house and we talked of religion and other things. They were very nice and interesting.
EDIT: The Mormons I talked with said the main Mormon Church does NOT practice polygamy.

My wifes family is mormon and they are some of the most kind hearted people I have ever met. Although a little strange, their religious beliefs actually fill in a lot of the illogical beliefs found in other forms of Christianity. Overall, really good people.

Know
Mormons really follow The "prophet" and not the scriptures they say they follow.
They believe Jesus is Satans Brother
God had sex with mary had had Jesus
God lives on a planet called Kolob and has sex and his wife is eternally pregnet.
there are secret temple handshakes, underwear, names and none of this is in the bible(or any other book they claim is scripture)..

The bible says Jesus is the only was to God. ANd if you change Jesus and make him something He is not and lead others astray...you are going to be dammed.
The bible says Gods forgivness is a gift not earned and teh LDS church is trying to earn the eternal savation (or exaltaion).
