it depends. type 1 is genetic and can be passed on to your children. type 2 is not.

Well, If your talking about the mom having diabetes may-be but my husband has type 2 diabetes and I myself have seizures that are under control now and our daughter was born with no health problems and she is going on 2 this June and she is still a healthy little girl with no health problems.

It is possible, but more than likey it will not happen. Alot of people think it is ur diet no exersise and all of that that causes it. Now that is true when u get type 2. But being born with it or having it when ur young(type 1) that is because ur pancris is not working correctly. i hope that answers ur ?.
