The father of Islam is Ishmael, the first born bastard son of Abraham. God promised Abraham a son, he got impatient and Sarah (his wife) was old, so he bore a child with his servant. This child was Ishmael, and while God did promise his mother that he would have many nations, he also said he would a "donkey of a man" and would basically be barbaric and out of control, fighting everyone. (sound familiar?)
So Isaac came along, and Sarah got jealous of Haagar and Ishmael and sent them out to the desert to die.
Isaac is the promised son, and his son, Isreal (Jacob) is the people chosen by God.
Islam has had Isaac-wanna-be issues for thousands of years, and they have taken many of the Bible stories and inserted Ishmael's name into their 'holy' texts. They have perverted the dates and context of much of Biblical history to fit their agenda - which is to kill off everyone but the descendants of Ishmael, thus taking what they think they should have had all along. They cannot and should not be trusted - ever. The sooner people realize this, the better.
Both the Jews and the Muslims practice some of the Old Testament laws, and yes, they are half brothers. Sort of like the good brother and the evil brother.
I am Christian and don't eat pork, it is a nasty animal that God never intended for food. He said it was OK if you have to, but I find lots of other stuff more suitable for consumption. And my son is circumsized because it is more sanitary - not sure if I did that for the right reason.

Well, the Muslim wants to claim the right to be God's chosen people through Ishmael to Abraham.
The Jews were told not to eat all sorts of scavengers, pigs included. Because they were unclean. You'll notice that Jewish people usually live a lot longer than other people because they are not eating things that ate dead things. Toxins are not present in the clean animals....
Circumsizing was supposed to be the covenant between Abraham and God that these were HIS people. However, Israel took up with all sorts of false gods and teachings that God gave both Israel and Judah a writ of divorce. Meaning they were kicked out of the family.
God reestablished his people when the new covenant was formed in Jesus Christ. Now the new sign of the covenant is baptism. It is just an outward sign. No actual saving power.

Yes they are of the same region and have similar faiths. they do believe in the same God over the years as the descendents of Abraham the father of judaism, spread around the vast desert due to various factors they tend to follow different religious leaders, as for pork the seventh cleanest animal in the world, lets put it this way in the desert where there would be scarcity of water for daily ablutions the pigs were reared to cleanse the waste of the oasis dewellers, thats the actual reason why the rule pork eating is forbidden

Yes. Actually, Muslims have the same roots as the Jews AND Christians. Muslims just believe that over time, man distorted God's word and made the religion into something false. Which is why the Qur'an was written. Muhammad was the last prophet, used by God to correct the mistakes in what Christianity and Judaism had evolved into.
And, as someone said - there was no copying of any kid. It was a correction.

Yes and no. When you go back to the story of Abraham, God promised his wife Sarah would bear a son. God worked slower than Abraham liked, so he slept with his wife's handmaiden and had a son, Ishmael. This was not what God intended, and not the child of promise. Later, Sarah did bear a son, Isaac, who later fathered the Jewish nation. Ishmael, on the other hand, became the Muslims. Amazing how trying to force God's hand thousands of years ago causes so many problems today.

YES, they both came from Abraham. Abraham has 2 sons, One Isaac(descendants are the Jews) and one Ishmael (descendants are Muslims).
The Jews, Christians and all ancient literature including the dead sea scrolls say Abraham almost sacrifices Isaac. The Muslims say it was Ishmael according to Mohammad.

Yes, as well as Christians. We all believe Abraham was the first one of our faiths....Christians accept the New Testament though, which releases us from the restrictions on certain animal meat and having to be circumsized.

I don't know about the actual Jews, but God is not the author of confusion, it is man, who because of his hypocrisy, his ulterior motives and his vested interests, has created so much confusion in their beliefs about the "same God" and thus has, in the name of God, destroyed countless innocent human lives besides dividing mankind Into Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus etc. God sent all his Prophets with one and the same message which was "Worship none but the one and only Almighty imageless God".
Thus there is only one religion since the first man set foot on earth till today.
