depends on how muscled you are. If you are a bit pudgy, don't worry about it. All my girlfriends and any woman I ever talk to prefers a chubby guy over a guy that is thinner than her. No woman wants a little wispy guy that makes her feel fat.
Try this, but remember it isn't so important to most women. Be a good person on the inside and the rest will come naturally.

According to your BMI, which is 29, you are at the high end of the over weight range. A BMI of 30 is considered obese.
If you are a weight lifter with a very low percentage of body fat you would not be fat, but you could still be over weight. However your doctor would be the best person to make that determination.

5' = 100 lb
add 5 lb/" for a woman
add 6 lb/" for a man
BUT, that's the basic rule. Your body type factors in, as does your muscle mass.
Talk to your doctor or to a trainer at any reputable gym.

My husband is 6ft and he is 200. He's muscle now but at one time he weighed 200 with no muscle and he looked great. Not fat at all. I think an extra 10 lbs would be fine.

You could stand to lose 25lbs. I have a great way to do it too. Here is my suggestion.
1. drink a lot of water.
2. eat breakfast at 6:30 every morning
3. keep your heart level up for at least 2 hours/day
4. eat lunch consisting of fruits and vegetables and meat at 12:00pm
5. eat a snack at 3pm of fruit
6. eat a light supper no later than 6:30pm.
The reason that I say start at 6:30am is because it will stimulate your metabolism and the earlier you eat, the more breakfast you can eat
The reason that I say at least 30 min of aerobic exercise/day is because the longer that you keep your heart rate up the more energy you burn.
The reason that I have put you on a schedule of times to eat is because this schedule keeps your metabolism up. The later that you eat supper, the more likely that the calories that you consume at dinner will turn to fat.
I suggest a lot of water because it has no calories and it aids the digestive process. I suggest fruit and vegetables because they do not have many calories and they digest easily.
Eat nuts in the morning because they are difficult to digest and will keep you full longer.
Good luck getting into shape.
By the way, if you run for at least 30 minutes/day you can go out to eat 1 time per week.

It depends on how much of your wieght is muscle......if most of that is fat, then you should be worried.
Other than that, it sounds like a good wieght for 6 feet.

height and weight mean nothing. the percentage of body fat determines if one is fat or not.
