I've never gotten around using these since I got out of the military and got a decent job with the local phone company. But now I've been thinking of returning to college. Is there a time limit on when I have to use my GI Bill and the Navy College Fund or are those the same thing?

You have 10 years to use your MGIB and starts once you are released from military service

No the GI Bill does not pay for previous colleges attended, only what you are enrolled in now. You are not eligible for the GI Bill until you have served 3 years. Plus the Navy does not do 2 year enlistments, that was something only offered by the Army several years ago and it isn't offered anymore either. For the Navy you must serve 4 years Active Duty. You can look into the Student Loan Repayment Plan but that is limited to only Federal loans, you must finish Boot & A School and report to your command, plus you pay taxes on the amount received. You are then not eligible for the GI Bill unless you reenlist and serve another 3 years after the original 4 years is up.

As the person above stated... it is TEN years from your EAOS / Separation Date for the Monkey-GI Bill (I know it's Montgomery).

I applied for an extension via the VA.

If you are too lazy to pull the contract out of your service record do you really think you will use it. Seriously stop talking about using it and just use it.
