You want healthy fats and carbs. Don't stack up on McDonald's unless you have a strong desire to look like the Michelin man and keep that look for the next year or two. Start with an increase in caloric intake, eat lots of red meats and balance it out with some carbs. Protein helps too. This is the method to getting "good weights"
Of course if you just want weight and don't mind the negative outcomes, stack up on three Supersize fries and two big Macs and you're good to go.

DO you want to gain just weight as in fat? or gain weight in a healthy way with muscle.
if you just want the fat weight, you can just eat LOTS of greasy foods such as mcdonalds, etc. The new angus beef steakburger at ARby's has 1000 calories a sandwhich! but thats not healthy.
i assume that you want to get bigger and weigh for the healthy way. In that case, you should eat lots of protein, like chicken. Protein bars are good, too. Then you could lift weights (max out) and bulk up that way. Sports like football get you big in the upper body, but then you'll have skinny legs.
Track/running makes you lean but mucular.
Soccer gives you calves.
So it's bascially based on what you want your body to be like.
hope that helps (:

You shouldn't gain it the bad way by fatty foods. You should just increase your intake of carbohydrates and calories. While gaining weight, you should stay safe and healthy. There are many things that can damage your body if they are eaten too often.

First off, don't listen to those people telling you to eat junk food. They're just being jerks.
Talk to a doctor or nutritionist. They may be able to tell you some suppliments.
Eating junk food or high fat foods are just going to make you feel bad, gain weight and lower your health significantly.

You need to increase your calorie intake by 500 a day if you want to gain about a pound a week. Adding one more meal a day should be enough to meet this mark.
