It's food, it tastes good, and what else would we do with all the cows?

If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat.

Due to gross massive ignorance people are not aware that humans ARE NOT meant to eat meat. Humans are herbivores and not carnivorous. The meat industry have tricked the meat eating fools into making them believe that humans must eat meat. This unscrupulous people breed defenseless animals who can not protest nor have anyone to defend them, then slaughter them by the millions and sell their cadaver in small pieces to the fools who will eat them. Herbivorous (humans included) sweat through their skin pores, carnivorous do it through their tongue; herbivores have flat teeth and no claws, carnivorous have sharp teeth and claws; herbivores have lower mandible side to side movement, carnivorous do not; herbivores intake liquids directly, carnivores use their tongue to drink; herbivorous have very long intestines, carnivorous have short intestines so the decayed meat can exit their body fast. Do yourselves a favor: give up eating meat at once before is too late. Eating meat goes against the laws of material nature and has bad karmic consequences. Mad cow disease originated because the cattle was being fed with meat. Ever wondered why there are so many crazy criminals wandering around our country? Don't be surprised if the unbalanced created by meat eating and slaughter of animals by the millions has everything to do with it.

If you look at how humans evolved, we were mostly hunter gathers who ate meat when it was there but mostly ate fruits and vegetables between meals. Also because we had no fridges back then, any meat had to be eaten quickly. So while I don't think science and evolutionary thinking will tell you to not eat meat, I think the best diet is one that eats meat in a smaller proportion to the amount of veggies you eat.

Corporate greed has led to practices in the meat industry that increasely diminishes the safety of the food supply. E. Coli, BSE, Hoof and Mouth are becoming more common--and it's going to get worse.

That's the only reason we "Shouldn't" be eating meat. There are lots of other reasons why people choose not to eat meat however, and that's up to them.

If you think about it, though... it's sad... to have the animals slaughtered and then to eat them. It's almost...inhuman. Though; I don't get vegetarians. It's not like if you pass up the meat; the animal it came from is going to just all of a sudden jump back up and be alive. If it's already dead then, hey. We should eat it. And enjoy it. I really couldn't imagine a world without meat... I couldn't live without steak and all that other good food that comes from animals. BUT, if you really do think about it, it IS sad for the animals. =[ But as I said; it's not like if you don't eat the animal it's going to get back up and be full of life.

Who said so?
Some vegetarians and vegans choose not to eat meat for what they believe to be ethical and moral reasons. Well, guess what? imitation meat has been created to satisfy some vegetarians' taste for the flavour and texture of meat.

Meat is good
But too much meat is not good

I knew a kid back in high school who lived on a farm and had a pet calf. When it was old enough, the dad slaughtered it and made the kid eat some for dinner.

He said cows are pretty smart animals; probably smarter than my jackass dog who keeps crapping on the floor.

Eating animal products contributes to high ldl cholesterol levels. It's dangerous to people who are at risk for cardiovascular anomalies, high blood pressure, stroke, aneurysms, that type of thing. It's too bad too, because I love a medium steak with a thick layer of salt on top and A1 drizzled all over it. I don't have that very often but when I do I savor every bite.

Exactly; God created livestock for our own consumption (according to my dad, anyways). Even God appeared to Peter in a dream, telling him that he was now allowed to eat the once-forbidden foods of the OT.

I love beef, poultry, pork, fish, etc. Heck, I'm a member of PETA....People for the Eating of Tasty Animals!

One time, I used to see a few bumper stickers with this line: "Vegetarian is an Indian word meaning 'lousy hunter.'"

there is not a reason. more of a reason to eat meat than not. there is a reason we are made the way we are. it a natural thing to do. vegetarians often look very sickly, because they are. they have gas problems because they are treating there body in an unnatural way, depriving it of something it needs.

not to say you will die if you never eat meat, and not that people who do eat meat don't have gas. vegetarians just have some wicked gas it would seem.
more to it than that, but that is all i got right now.
