try using a special shampoo like john freida sheer blonde, brilliant brunette, radiant red, etc. DONT use the pantene stuff though...it works like crap. also in the summer when ur in the sun obviously it lightens your hair. also try to put lemon juice in your hair then lay out in the sun. i know that sounds rediculous, but it really works for a lot of people.

Lemon juice and sunshine will lighten it somewhat. Also Manic Panic is a good brand of funky hair colors. All are supposedly vegetable based. They do well on grey, and wash out eventually. You can usually pick them up at a beauty supply shop like Sallys. The cream is semi-permanent and the gel washes out. Try Pioneerthinking.com They have some all-natural hair dye solutions.

To get a lighter shade, you could try bleaching. As for darkening hair without using dye, I don't think it's possible.

If it's the chemicals in the dye/bleach that you're worried about, there are alternative products (natural) that can add/remove color that are safer.

well there are natural highlights from being in the sun a lot, and there are shampoos that enhance and bring out more of a color in your hair.

i used to be bleach blonde when i was a kid, and without any dying or highlighting or anything, im more of a dirty blonde with very light brown streaks, so age is a big factor as well.

you cant get your whole head a different shade, though, without dye, but i think natural looks best.

let your hair spin its course.

You can lighten your hair by bleaching with peroxide or lemon juice and a sunlamp. You can also buy a sun activated lightening kit. There are ways to temporarily darken your hair but nothing that will last past a couple washes.

If you mean without all over dying it then technically there is always high-lights or low-lights. They will give you a subtle change :) I would try Garnier Color Breaks, and good luck!

Other than wigs or having extentions put in under your hair that is another color, there is no other way. I would go with dying your hair before getting extensions or wigs because it's by FAR cheaper.
