I pray because I believe that God is present in my life and that the good things in my life are blessings (so I thank Him in prayer), the bad things in my life can be lessons (so I ask Him to show me how I can learn from it/accept it/grow as a person for having gone through it) and because I feel whole after prayer, like after having a really good talk with a good friend. I pray for little things in my life (like, "God, please let the light stay green long enough for me to get there") and for the bigger things (like, "God give me the strength and wisdom to deal with the situation before me in the right way").
I pray because I believe in the power of prayer, that He hears me, though His answers are not always readily apparent or what I would like. I wouldn't change the bad things in my life, however, because I know that the good things in it would be the same or wouldn't happen at all if the bad wasn't there as well. I pray because my life is better with God in it, and I'm happier with God such a big part of my daily life.

I not only pray to communicate with God, I pray because I know how much power is in a prayer. You can pray for protection and the desires of your heart and, if it's God's will, you will receive them. John 16:24 "Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be made complete."

It's my way of having a conversation with GOD. I don't pray all the time for something to happen. I know he is listening and I tell him everything about what I feel to how I handled some situations in my life even though he already knows.

To pray is the same as to talk to someone I deeply love, respect and need to have in my life.
So I pray to Jehovah and tell him about the good and bad times as well as ask for help for myself and my brothers and sisters.

To talk to God. Praying isn't a ritual or anything like that, your supposed to talk to God just like you talk to any other person, although praying has extraordinary effects.

I pray so i can become closer to God. Even though he knows what you do, and what your thinking, he wants you to trust him enough to confide in him. It really makes me feel like hes right there with me.

Praying is a form of communion with God. I pray all the time, and I give thanks to God for all things.
