The only way to give someone a perfect gift is to think of something perfect 'for' them. You need to know the person in order to give the perfect gift to them. Think about what she likes and experiences she's had....or would like to have. Try to come up with something unique to her, that will hold a special appreciation with her. It doesn't have to be costly either, when you give a gift full of thought, attention, and love, it's already priceless.

One of the best gifts my mother loved, was one I actually made myself.

I wrote her a letter of how much I appreciated her. I reminded her of all the moments she meant the most to me and of specific times she made me smile or made me happy.

Hardly do we ever get to thank people so thoroughly and thoughtfully and it is a gift, to someone, to tell them how much they have meant in your life.

You can frame it, or write it on very fancy paper, scrapbook it on pages in an old book.

You can buy an old ragged looking book from the library or bookstore and glue the first few pages and the last pages together so you have a few pages left in the center to glue your letter inside the book.

It's just an idea. My mother really loved it and she cried. She said that that was the greatest gift she could ever receive. A child writing a tribute to her mother.

Ask her what she likes. After you see what kind of stuff that she likes go out and see if your older brother or sister (if you have one) can take you to the store and get that for her. If you dont have an older sibling ask an aunt or uncle if they can. Another piece of advice is surprise her by getting her a nice top, cd of a singer or group that she likes or something. Trust me, i did that for my mom all the time. Good Luck sweetie.

As a mother myself, I know that I adore presents from my kids that are sentimental - I think that a gift that shows how much you care is wonderful. For example, if she loves her yard - you could get her a rose bush or a tree or something that every year when it blooms, she will think of you. Also, perhaps start a charm bracelet for her - put a charm on it, something that she loves - and each year add to it. good luck

Recognition for all that she does. Maybe write a letter thanking her for everything she does, and what she'll continue to do for you and your family. Moms love things that are truly from the heart. Even if it's just a home made card. You can also make a basket and gather her favourite things and fill it up.

Good luck,

-.-'

This may sound hokey, but making her proud of you is the best thing you could do. Material things are okay, but pride in your child is the best thing any one can do for their mother. I'm a mother of 3, so I know. There is nothing so awful as being ashamed of your child (regardless of age) or their decisions.
