So far one Christian has now admitted that the Bible is not literally true, and can be revised to fit circumstances.

And One Atheist chimed in with a Non-sequitor on the subject matter.

These words about the commandments are in Deut 4:2 ; You must not add anything to the charge I decree or take anything away from it; you must carry out the commandment of the Lord our God which I lay upon it.

There is no evidence, either in terms of physical artifacts or contemporary first-hand accounts of his life, that such a person ever existed. Therefore, there is no evidence of his having done anything.

When Jesus instituted the new covenant, he gave a new and better set of rules.

He also gave us a church, complete with the unresricted power and authority to do whatever was necessary for the good of the body of Christ.

Mat 16:19 And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven.

The above language covers just about anything the church could ever conceive of doing. The authority of the church is supreme. The scope is virtually without limits.

The church, under the authority given to it by God, instituted revised commandments, and has also consistently taught that homosexual activity is seriously disordered and sinful.

Come judgment day, you can most certainly expect God to stand on the commandments and precepts of the church he personally founded.

I don't understand what you are asking. Jesus further defined the 10 commandments and He simplified them for us down to two- Love God and love your neighbors.

To change the 10 commandments into contemporary language is fine as long as the message of the commandments remain.

Jesus never said to change the 10 Commandments, and they have not been changed. Stop lying.
