It is a fact that Malayalam songs contain more
Sanskrit words. Linguists
have conducted statistical surveys as to what percentage
of the Sanskrit words are present in each of the Indian
languages. These reports were published in Science Today
and other magazines. As per one such report published
in a news paper, Telugu language contains about 65% of
Sanskrit words, and this fugure is the highest. Aitereya
Brahmana says about Andhras. Did it mention Malayalam?
For research work, an American university wanted audio
recordings as to how each of the slokas of the Vedas
are verbalised through voice. First, they have been the
best traditional centre for Hinduism, the Varanasi.
They are not happy with their pronounciation. Then they
have been to Kerala. Their pronounciation was good, but
they wanted a more perfect form which could be as close
to that which existed in Vedic times. They finally got
the recordings from the Telugu pundits at Tirupathi.
