I mean, I understand believing it as a child- like Santa Claus- but once you've gone to college and been out in the world around different types of people, how can you still believe?

There has to be some psychological process or something in their brain bio-chemistry that retards their emotional growth and intellectual development. It cannot be coincidence that the most religious are so frequently the least educated and lacking in intellectual curiosity for anything outside of what their faith teaches them.

Faith is not something that needs prove. Hence the meaning of faith, in this case, belief in God. If an adult were to need proof, it would not be faith but proof and reality, thus everyone should be one religion, or in this case no religion, because a religion is based on belief, not proof. As for Santa Claus, he did exist, his name was Saint Nicholas. He was a Bishop who secret gave gifts, thus the belief, once again, of Santa Claus. Being out to college does not mean that God doesn't exist, it just proves it does...I mean how otherwise would you pass that extremely hard biology test. xD Anyways, as I was saying, being around with different people who have different beliefs is almost like a test from God, to see if you really believe him. Many people have a strong belief in Christ that cannot be shattered by a few words from a Scientist or an Atheist. In fact the most common reason people are so religious is because they witnesses a miracle either to themselves or to someone related. This ties them with god even further.

My question is how can you not believe? Christ is nothing like Santa Claus. I don't know what going to college and being around other people have to do with it. I have a bachelors degree and a masters degree but that does not change the truth.

God does reveal himself in very real ways through the Holy Ghost. Those who seek God will receive the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost will testify of all truth to those who humbly seek. When you feel the promptings of the Holy Ghost it is an undeniable feeling of love that comes over you.

To the person that said, you only read the Bible and other Christian books, that is absolutely not true. God expects us to learn about all things. Not just religion. Math, Science, History, all of it. But you do continue to study the Bible and to pray on a daily basis. Not only daily but continually keep a prayer in your heart. Keep a balance in life and don't let any one thing totally take you over. You need to feed all areas of your being including the spiritual, the physical, the emotional, and the intellectual. Let all things come together for your good. And if you remember not to neglect the spiritual and truly seek to know truth, God will lead you there.

WOW ! Now you are 'educated'! But how educated can someone be that equivocates the Creator of the universe with santa claus? I don't care if you graduated from Harvard or Yale, that is pure ignorance. Secular education has destroyed the faith of many, so you aren't alone. The question is how did you lose YOUR faith? It is sad that the world teaches against the Living God. Little wonder that the Bible teaches us to not BE of the world. So go ahead and place yourself with your 'education' above everyone that believes in Christ in your mind, if it makes you feel superior. But ask yourself this: Why do I feel a need to feel superior to others? I would say that I will pray for you, but people like you seem to take offense to that, as if we only say it to sound smug. Good day.

Who understands truth more? an innocent child or an adult? a child of course.

So why are you doubting your very child in you? Adults are blinded by many things in life that removes the child from them.

Get on Google Video or YouTube and look up Kent Hovind and watch is 7 part series. He is good and explaining many things and putting you back into alignment. School is not God nor the master of all things, it is nothing more than a business. And a business, like any business out there in the world, is only worried about themselves, not their employees nor customers.

Think about that.

B/c u learn to understand god differently, Instead of on faith you learn to take him on proof (a child will take god b/c that's all they have. If an adult wants god then they think they have other options so they have to show themselves where god has worked in their lives and then convince themselves that coincidences in life don't exist (especially since most of them are astronomical) Like I heard on TV the other day, if you found a watch in a field, you wouldn't exept that all that parts had just fallen out of the sky to form the watch. You would suspect some one made it! Same w/ us. God is the being that tugs you when your all alone. When you knock everyone else out of the picture. That's what praying is for. In the silince you feel the tug of strength and that is GOD!

As a child we take more of a stance in "blind faith" but when we grow up and become adults, blind faith doesn't cut it anymore. So you have one of two options: 1) assume that it's stupid stuff just for kids, or 2) actually study it to find out that Christianity is true and is confirmed with historical fact. Sad how many people choose option number 1.

Dear LM, the way we have been meant ot keep the faith and remain strong in our christian roots is to read the word, pray, ask God for help whenwe face doubts and to continue fellowshipping seeking answers with Christain leaders such as pastors, and most of all, remeber that the world is at emnity with God. its main value in existence is to discredit and destroy the Gospel, but if you will do these things I said above, you can be sure, you will remain strong in the faith.
God Bless

For me... It is a lifestyle and a relationship with Christ. So, it is only all to real for me.

After you see a man crawling on the floor like a snake (seriously...like a snake) and a strange voice speaking "NO! You can't have him!" while your father is speaking in the name of Jesus release this man! You kind of start to believe in the things you can't see.

Just me.
Personal experience.
Will these "stories" get others saved?
Probably not.
Because to other people they will just say I'm making this crap up.
But to me, it was real.
I experienced watching this and many more weird happenings like it while with my parents ministering in Fiji.

Once you see a guy do a 180 with his head. You get the point....

If evil like this exists. Then there must be something good to oppose it.

My faith is much, much stronger as an adult. I am a devout, practicing Catholic. I've learned about many other expressions of faith and I constantly renew myself in my Catholic faith. Knowing that it alone goes all the way back to the Apostles helps. It's not a manmade invention from the last century.

I believe the Bible because the more I read it the more clear it is to me that the picture of reality it presents;
a picture of men lost in sin, alienated from God and under the control of an evil spirit being called Satan; is exactly the state of mankind today. However I also believe because I have a personal relationship with God. His Holy Spirit dwells with me and He discloses Himself to me personally through prayer, fellowship, worship, meditation and providence.
If you knew what I know, you could not help but to believe.
I have learned though that my faith has to be nurtured and cultivated. I do not waste my time with the vanities of this lost world, but give myself to things of eternal consequence. In other words, I seek first the kingdom of God, just as Jesus said.
Nevertheless, "unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
