By Biblical definition, pre-marital sex would be fornication. And as some people here have Scripture references, you can look those up or use a Bible concordance. Fornication is a sin.

This means he didn't have his fiance' stoned to death for being pregnant before they consumated their own marriage. That is becuase the foundation for punishments of sexual immorality are set all throught the old testament starting in Leviticus.

Acts 15.20 "abstain from...fornication"
1 Corinthians 10.8
1 Thes. 4.3
Jude 1.7
of course, here fornication means a more general sense of sexual sin.

The bible states a lot of things where people are supposed to "read between the lines". Personally I don't think that there's anything wrong with it and I'm an active Christian however that doesn't mean it's not a sin. Really I think it's a judgment call.

People translate "porneia" as "fornication," and then use that to refer to premarital sex, but it doesn't; it just means "sexual perversity." What exactly IS perverse is left undefined.
If you read the Song of Songs carefully, you'll realize that the lovers are betrothed, but unmarried, and MAN, are they getting it on. So no, the Bible not only doesn't condemn pre-marital sex, it seems to encourage it.

It doesn't. In several places it says to keep away from sexual immorality, but never explicitly "pre-marital sex".
