When Allah revealed that in the Qur'an it was at a time when Muslims were faceing total eniaalation. All of the violence Allah talks about in the Qur'an was directed to the Arab peagans,of the time, because they were so ruthless towards the Muslim, men ,women, and children. You people don't know why Allah told the Muslims to fight the infedels. It is the Natural Arab bloode they they are very hot temoerd and anything can set them off.Arabs back then, and even now, were known for being, barbairic, and ruthless. Why do you think Arabia remained fo untouched for so long, while people from every other nation was invading and taking over evryone elses country? No body wasn't trying to mess with the Arab, because if you make them mad,you might loose your head.
The Arab peagans were irrataited by the Muslims because, they were loosing buiessnes,as some of the rich, buiseness owners were becoming Muslim. The arab army started attacing and, simply murdering every Muslim in site, for about 3 years. It didn't matter if you were 3 years old,or 77 years old.If you were Muslim,or your parents were Muslim, you were subject to In-humane,brutal persicution.Muhammad(s.a.w.) would not fight, and ordered the new Muslims not to fight back, because Allah had not said they could fight back. Here is what the Peagans did to the Muslims:
Men women and children were............
Behaeded,and thrown into,lion cages,
ropes were tide to all their limbs and they were streched,
they wer expirimented on,like some were strapped to tables and their chest were cut open,
the worst is they were starved. Some of the peagans a tually felt sorry for them and said that they could here the Muslim children and elderly skreaming, and crying, because of pure hunger.Imagine starving in the Arabian dessert. Can you?
They were strapped to post and whipped, until unconciousness, then left outside to fry in the hot dessert sun
When Islam reached prestday Iran, the Christian King was fuiourios, and orderd the Messnger to be torterd. They were.
They had theiir hands tide behind their backs, and one by one, they were thrown into a huge pot of boiling oil,and they were cooked emedietly. One second you see flesh, the next nothing but bone.
That is just the surface of Islamic history.
That is why the Qur'an commands the Muslims of Muhammad's time to strike back.
Does that answer your question?
You should watch this movie called "The Message."It will explain everything to you.

Simple - if everyone remembers, the Quran was a way of communication between Allah & Muhammad - hence whenever such verses were sent to Muhammad from Allah it was related to that certain time period. For example, during the first battle of Badr the Quranic verses that were sent down were in Surah Al Anfal saying; 'Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers;- That He might justify Truth and prove Falsehood false, distasteful though it be to those in guilt. Remember ye implored the assistance of your Lord, and He answered you: "I will assist you with a thousand of the angels, ranks on ranks." Allah made it but a message of hope, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah. and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise. ' This above verse doesn't mean that if we go to war now we'll have 1000 angels who will help us win the war, it means that in the Battle of Badr there WERE 1000 angels who helped those Muslims win the war. Same with the these 3 verses; USUFALI: And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do. PICKTHAL: And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah. But if they cease, then lo! Allah is Seer of what they do. SHAKIR: And fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah; but if they desist, then surely Allah sees what they do. These 3 verses were related to the events that were happening centuries ago, not currently. The WHOLE of the Quraan has other verses like these which relate to the past - we aren't supposed to follow them & start believing that Allah is telling us to got to war, we're supposed to follow them & think about how Allah helped the Prophet in 624 AD when the actual war was going on. Hence Allah made no mistake when he sent it down - he sent each & every word perfectly because it was related to that certain time period. It is not at all related to anything right now unlike so many 'substantial amount of muslims, not just in the hills of Afghanistan and Pakistan' believe. I hope this explains everything!

I can also quote from the Old Testament where God told Moses to kill all those who didn't believe in the one true God.
So I take it that both the Quran and the Bible says to kill unbelievers..so you will have to condemn both the Quran and Bible as false teachings and convert to Atheism????? LOL!!!!
Remember the Bible says that 'there's a time to kill and a time to heal.
Neither the Quran or Bible says to go around killing unbelievers but there may be instances when it had to be done.
It will be easier to understand the Quran if you would also read the true History of Mohammad and his times; if you do, you may understand just what your quote is all about. Contrary to what some Muslims think, the Quran can be difficult to comprehend and fanatics within the faith have used this misunderstanding to commit evil.

Not at all. Every command of ALLAH shall not be ignored.
"FIGHT THEM UNTIL RELIGION IS ONLY FOR ALLAH"
Am I not fighting you right now for the religion of ALLAH.
I will fight till the end of my worldly journey.
Nowadays woman are fighting for their right, man are fighting for their's, I can't see anything wrong in it, except the one using force rather than intelligence. But if you come with force I will fight back in force.

Again out of conext ... Anyway very happy to quote the Quran here for you....
Its Chapter 8 and the verse 29-42. Hope you will understand
29. O ye who believe! if ye fear Allah, He will grant you a criterion (to judge between right and wrong), remove from you (all) evil (that may afflict) you, and forgive you: for Allah is the Lord of grace unbounded.
30. Remember how the Unbelievers plotted against thee, to keep thee in bonds, or slay thee, or get thee out (of thy home). They plot and plan, and Allah too plans; but the best of planners is Allah.
31. When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: "We have heard this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are nothing but tales of the ancients."
32. Remember how they said: "O Allah if this is indeed the Truth from Thee, rain down on us a shower of stones form the sky, or send us a grievous penalty."
33. But Allah was not going to send them a penalty whilst thou wast amongst them; nor was He going to send it whilst they could ask for pardon.
34. But what plea have they that Allah should not punish them, when they keep out (men) from the sacred Mosque - and they are not its guardians? No men can be its guardians except the righteous; but most of them do not understand.
35. Their prayer at the House (of Allah. is nothing but whistling and clapping of hands: (Its only answer can be), "Taste ye the penalty because ye blasphemed."
36. The Unbelievers spend their wealth to hinder (man) from the path of Allah, and so will they continue to spend; but in the end they will have (only) regrets and sighs; at length they will be overcome: and the Unbelievers will be gathered together to Hell;-
37. In order that Allah may separate the impure from the pure, put the impure, one on another, heap them together, and cast them into Hell. They will be the ones to have lost.
38. Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from Unbelief), their past would be forgiven them; but if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them).
39. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily Allah doth see all that they do.
40. If they refuse, be sure that Allah is your Protector - the best to protect and the best to help.
41. And know that out of all the booty that ye may acquire (in war), a fifth share is assigned to Allah,- and to the Messenger, and to near relatives, orphans, the needy, and the wayfarer,- if ye do believe in Allah and in the revelation We sent down to Our servant on the Day of Testing,- the Day of the meeting of the two forces. For Allah hath power over all things.
42. Remember ye were on the hither side of the valley, and they on the farther side, and the caravan on lower ground than ye. Even if ye had made a mutual appointment to meet, ye would certainly have failed in the appointment: But (thus ye met), that Allah might accomplish a matter already enacted; that those who died might die after a clear Sign (had been given), and those who lived might live after a Clear Sign (had been given). And verily Allah is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things).
