Apparantly the majority of highly successful CEOs report that they were spanked as children. Opinions anyone? I am attaching the link for the article.

Yep, I've read that article. That shoots down anti spanker's opinion that spanking lowers the IQ. Look spanking won't make you smart, and it wont make you dumb. It will assist (if used properly) in bringing up respectful, caring, moral children. My daughter's are some of the brightest kids in their respective classes. However more importantly to me, i am constantly reminded of how "WELL BEHAVED" they are. Many teachers pull me aside and tell me how "FUN" your children are to be around.

Spanking is a time honored method of child rearing. It has been common for centuries and across most cultures. Why? Because it works!

There is a major difference between a beating given in anger and a spanking given from a loving parent to a misbehaved child. Most of the so-called 'experts' have missed that point. The real experts are the parents of 'successful' children.

Spankings given by loving parents to misbehaved children - even through the teen years - are an effective parenting tool. They shouldn't be used for everything or all of the time, they are simply another tool.

I agree with spanking a child. I also know there is a difference between spanking and beating a kid. When you spank a kid it makes more of a impact then putting them in a corner or taking things away. I think it helps the kid become more discipline and they actually know that someone wants them to succeed.

Spankings, as children, helps us to learn the difference between right and wrong. With the right parents, a good old a** whoopin will create a good person.

I had many as I grew up, and I think it has helped me to better decipher the difference.

I have 11 felonies, but I never committed the same crime twice!

Mom and Dad did what they had to to keep Junior in line. It apparently worked because now they are successful. Of course there are some CEOs that need spanked because of the naughty things they do with other people's money

I guess there will be no more successful CEOs now that they banned spanking.

I doubt that's the reason why they are so successful, but it's possible.

Yes it is true. many people have proved over the last 200 years that spankings work. in fact most if not all the presidents of the US were spanked as a kid. do not listen to the so-called "experts" most of them do not have kids. and dr. spock's kid killed himself. those people do not know any thing.
