OH OH OH!!!! I've got this one!! My son did a picture slideshow of his baby pics (growing up) and set it to the Backstreet Boys "Shape of My Heart"... and we CRIED and CRIED! It's PERFECT. Look up the lyrics if you've never heard it.
(OK, I looked up the lyrics, and maybe they're not so great for the moment... but SOMETHING about that song made us CRY!)

"Turn Around" would be a good one.
Turn Around
Written by: Harry Belafonte / Alan Greene / Malvina Reynolds
Where are you going
My little one, little one
Where are you going
My baby, my own
Turn around and you’re two
Turn around and you’re four
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door
Turn around, turn around
Turn around and you’re a young girl
Going out of the door
Where are you going
My little one, little one
Little pigtails, petticoats
Where have they gone
Turn around and you’re tiny
Turn around and you’re grown
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own
Turn around, turn around
Turn around and you’re a young wife
With babes of your own
Where have they gone
My little ones, little ones
Where have they gone
My babies, my own
Turn around and they’re young
Turn around and they’re old
Turn around and they’re gone
And we’ve no one to hold
Turn around, turn around
Turn around and they’re gone
And we’ve no one to hold
Where are you going
My baby, my own
And "You Must Have Been A Beautiful Baby" and "Sunrise, Sunset." This is if you want a sort of nostalgic feel. "The Way We Were" might be another good choice.
Another way to go--When were you a kid? What years? It might be good to get some songs from that decade.
Good luck! Sounds like a great idea!

Forever young, I don't remember the artist I think there's numerous that sing it.
* I'm just a kid - simple plan.
* Youth of the Nation - P.O.D
If I can remember anymore, I'll add more to this comment.
Good luck.

End of the line by christie Mac
powerful lyrics:
Will we be friends when we grow
old? is this the end of the line?
I hurt with you I love with you
the world just seems to get
in our way
Is this the end of the line?
Oh please don't leave me
Don't let your heart let go
We'll find a way
The journey has only begun
Is this the end of the line?
Oh yeah, oh
Is this the end of the line?
If you leave I'll follow
don't let your heart let go
We'll find a way
the journey has only begun
Is this the end of the line?
Is this the end of the line?
