They were talking about how Atheists are the most mistrusted group in this country. On Paula Zahn they had a panel of three, one was an Atheist. The Christian man asked the Atheist, where they got their morals from since Christians get theirs from god and the bible.

I know where we get them from, our evolution. Before religion, life still cared for one another. An alligator will carry the eggs of her offspring in her mouth for miles, for protection. A simple survival trait. The more offspring you have, the better your chances of for survival. We take care of each other before we are the same species. Not from what a book tells you.

Did you know that the word "god" is nowhere to be found in the US constitution. It is our right as a American, a freedom FROM religion.

Actually, it's freedom OF religion,but as usual,I expect an atheist to change the wording to suit themselves. And,you're right. God isn't in the Constitution,but if you read the end of the Constitution,right before the signatures,you'll see that "Our Lord" is. Most of our Forefathers clearly believed in God,which anyone who knows their history can tell you.And,what is the difference between believing our morals came from God(written in a book) than believing our morals came from an evolutionary process.(oh look,also written in a book.)

No, I didn't watch CNN tonight. As to your statement about "god" not being in the constitution, here is a pretty clear reference to Him in our declaration of independence.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."
