I have always wanted to know, if God hears you no matter where you pray and forgives your every sin, why is it people are looked down on for not going to church.. It seems to me that God would be happy as long as we are worshipping him, no matter where we do it. I choose not to attend church, because they seem more about sinners, and giving your money than really on worshipping. Maybe I have been the wrong churches.
I'm not looking for bible verses etc. I just weant to know what everyone elses thoughts are and if I am alone in wondering why would it matter where you worship or how you do it, if you do it?

simple churches are a money making business's tax free if you don't go to church and put your money in the collection plate they don't get richer. look at the Catholics enough riches to feed the entire world but do you see them spending any. if you believe in any god you don't need a church to pray in. and for all the Jesus followers the only time he went to church he vandalised it and made the preachers mad enough at him to get himself nailed to a cross

I actually feel the same way you do. I haven't found a church I am happy with but I hope I will. Worshiping God is an everyday thing, not just on Saturday or Sunday. No matter what Church you attend, there will be sinners because we all are sinners. I do believe you need fellowship with people who share your beliefs so you can help each other grow in your faith. These are people you can count on, ask questions to and be there for.
May God Bless you.

one of the best ways to grow is through contact with other (usually more mature) believers. This is because we can't all have the same revelation, but if we're in a place where believers congregate then (in theory) we can hear other peoples revelation and add it to what we have, as well as giving what we have to others. Also the other believers serve to anchor us should we try to go way out in left field. the other thing is its hard to serve the people of God if you don't know the people of God. I'm not saying that your friends and co workers aren't Gods people, but a majority of most peoples co-workers(at least) and friends are ungodly. Also how do you define church? Do you define it as a building with a pointy roof? if so then no a church is immaterial. If you define the church as the people of God then it doesn't matter where you meet them so long as you have contact. McDonald's is a perfect place to "go to church" and have some good fellowship, and to some extent that can even be better.

WEll, ur statement isn't correct for starters. I apologize on the behalf of whoever told u that God hears everyones prayers. God only hears the saved folks prayers.. If anyone got a prayer away salvation answered it was that other dude trickin you. The Devil works in mysterious ways just like God.. And u must be baptized to properly recieve the Holy Ghost. Allota people dont really know that either. And the Holy Ghost Saves U. And Introduces u properly to Jesus. There are allot of false phrophets out there that seduce and perform miracles to bring us in.. They fakin the funk. So be very careful..

well first of all....you are not looked down upon and it is true that it doesnt matter where you worship there has been many places in the bible where people have prayed from a jail to a hot furnace! second of all in the bible it says you have to give tithes to your church so it isnt about giving money but about obeying God really...a tithe is 10% of your paycheck

Main reasons for prayer is to establish a relationship with God, it is also vital to maintaining that relationship with Him. For an illustration, two friends who are in constant communion learn about each other, do things together, and share problems with each other. That's why it is the key element of prayer is that it establishes a relationship with God.
Although we don't have to go to Church, we still have a responsibility to do all we can to locate other believers and get together with them. Each part of the body (of Christ) exists to meet the needs of other body parts. I would suggest looking for a community of believers for that reason. Yeah, I would say since you feel the way you do you have been to the "wrong" Churches for you!

The idea of churches is for those of like mind, and spirit to get together in fellowship.
Jesus Christ said that "where two or more are gathered in my name, there I will be also".
That means fellowship, and so therefore, even this is a kind of church.
Hope you come back to this one.

How do you handle this Bible verse:
"and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near." ? (Hebrews 10:24,25)
