Well normally all an usher does is to sit the people and make sure there is enough palces to sit. Most of the time they only do it when the church is getting full and then show them where to sit and when you go look to see where at is more seating places that are empty

seats people, hands out invitations before they enter the sanctuary.... we are having our ushers light the candles before the ceremony, and they hand out bubbles/rice/rose petals, ect.... after the ceremony is over

u have to seat people in church like tell them how many can sit in a bench/pew. U also have to collect the money in the baskets. Good luck.
