Some say you are born a Christian. Others claim they are Christian because of your parents, or if you go to church. Then some just say they're a Christian even though their lifestyle completley go against what Jesus taught. However I know this is not the case.
Growing up I always had doubts about whether or not I was going to heaven or hell. I used to get angry that God would even create a hell, that is an infinite punishment. However after studying scripture I began to understand that we decide our fate, by the decisions we make.
It just so happens that I was it was my Senior year of highschool, and I was completley depressed and it was the lowest point of my life. I was stressed out because a girl I had a crush on moved away, and she really liked me, and I never asked her out. I was so heartbroken because I knew I would most likely never get to see the girl again. Although what happend was that same year I went on a mission trip to St.Louis. In my pain, I reached out and helped others. During worship, I decided that I didn't want my life any more and gave it all to Jesus. From the day forth, I have never been the same. I now know my savior, his spirit lives in me. I now actually love learning about the bible, and growing spiritually. It use to make me sick, and bored to death, but that was my old self.
There is much evidence that Christianity is true by the way. Scientific evidence and Prophecy. Study some of these sites and you will learn.

I was 17 when I became a Christian.. I went to church several times and really listened to the minister.. Wow, I was amazed at his sermons and the story of Jesus..
I was really tormented in my mind after that, I let the sermons roll over and over in my heart.. I finally surrendered to God, I asked Him to be my personal Savior and I have never regretted one moment of my Christian life. I have abundances of blessings each day and I praise Him for what He has done and what He is going to do...
Why did I become a Christian? I wanted to live the correct way with my new best Friend. I yearned to follow the Ten Commandments and help others. I walk in the path each day that He lays before me.. I know my life wont end when I take my last breath on Earth, my next breath, I will be in the presence of Jesus, to live an eternity in His Kingdom and forever singing His praises...
That is a wonderful question you asked, I enjoyed answering it...

WHEN? 10 years ago as an adult.
WHY? I researched and followed many religions prior to becoming a born again bible believing Christian, this one seemed to fit me best.
NOW ... who knows ... backslidden, no longer attend church, still believe in God but have too many unanswered questions and some of the people have definitely turned me off.
Dark Hollow: Read your profile and totally understand you ... I'd love to hear your full story. Please do yourself a favor though and rid yourself of your hatred towards Christianity ... this is only hurting you. Peace :-)

In 1992 sitting at my kitchen table having a cup of tea. Something just came over me and all of a sudden I just knew God. Seems strange I know but, God does work in wonderful and mysterious way's at times.
By the way I wasn't raised in a Christian home.
Now my mom, dad, sister and brother and my husband know Him personally as well.

I became a Christian when I was 19 and in college because Jesus spoke to me through the gospels. I realized that he had wisdom from beyond this world and I gave my life to him and asked him to lead me. He has not disappointed me since :)

Since baptism as a baby, the Holy Spirit gives me my faith in Christ, without the holy spirit, I can't call myself a believer of Christ.
