I think that they are displaying a power struggle in the relationship and filling their own ego. It isn't a good way to behave and you are right when you say you lose respect and trust in that type of person because I do too. I have observed lots of people who fall into that category though. It is harder for them to be 'nice' and they are only filling their own needs to get what they want. No consideration for their partner.

Then tell them what you just explained.Women like jerks that's what I've learned,
Try to be a nice guy and they think it's not the real you yet.
They think the guys a fake.Besides if I'm a jerk sometimes people try to be nicer when they find out im not a push over.
If a women wants to be nice to me I'll snap out of it.What it is ,is that men are used to being treated like jerks anyway so they have to eventually feel like one so why not act like one.Sometimes it's the only way to see if a girl won't cower and hopefully she'll stand up and show some pride in herself by doing right again by the man.It may not be your fault but everyone has a soft spot.Even Jerks can be broken.

You'd even find a 'hottie' that way, and turn the other way, even if he was just being snide? If you would, I feel like you're in the minority. Most of the women I've been around, the cute ones anyway, always seem to get the jerks. And then they'll keep them around, trying to change them. Even if they admit they guys not that romantic, they'll keep him around. Meanwhile, I'm dreaming my heart out, like a moron.

You may possibly be that rare individual who has self-worth and esteem who also notices this phenomenon. Most people feel that when people treat them badly, those people are better than they are; thus, they are then are even more interested and prompted to work even harder to earn a person's respect when they are being treated poorly. I believe this stems from most people's desire for the unattainable. It's a sick, vicious cycle.

Some friend would have suggested that and I had tried that to my friend for a short period to my friend who I had liked evenyear. It just seems so unnatural which I don't really like the feeling. In the end, I just can't make myself to treat her badly and I really regret for doing that ruining the friendship. It is a good thing that both of us are still very close friends and I am still trying very hard to win her heart.
I think if a person really likes you, he can't even make himself to treat you badly.

I couldn't agree with you more and with a lot of people doing these things. I know I'm not the type of person myself to go that extreme...
