The trick is to use in moderate amount. Your hair got hard if you use too much gel too. I use a little on my hair, then when my hair dries, I comb it. Then it is nice and silky and stays in place. But just a little dab will do ya.

redken, rusk, and bed head make awesome pomades and waxes.
if you're going to use cheap, drugstore products, then you're going to be stuck with cheap looking hair.
