A half-hour ago, I asked a question about how far back Christians' spiritual heritage stretched before reaching Roman Catholic roots.

Most people by-passed it all together, even though from the 4th century CE until the 15th century CE, the primary European Church was Roman Catholic.
That's 1000 years of church history, about half of the existence of Christianity on the face of the earth.
How can such a vessel be ignored, when it carried the faith for a millennium? Why the shame over the Roman Catholic heritage?

By the way, I'm not Roman Catholic. I'm not even Christian any longer. But I am truthful about heritage, and I'm surprised by the deception carried forth by the protestants here tonight.

For the record, the Catholic Church has been in continuous operation from the day of Pentecost, in around 34 AD, right up through the present day.
There was only one Christian Church in exstence until the rise of the 15th century reformers, and that was the Catholic Church.
The "shame" comes in when those who broke away from the only church Jesus ever founded, during difficult and perilous times, attempt to justify their actions.
The desendents of the protestant reformers have developed a false alternative protestant history, a false alternative protestant faith tradition, and even an alternative Bible, to go along with their false alternative church.
And no divine authority exists for any of it.
To accept any part of their Roman Catholic heritage, they would have to acknowledge their current, spiritually near bankrupt condition, and the utter depravity of many of their strange beliefs.
So they claim power and authority from God, when they have none, and they proclaim their words of knowledge, as though they were provided by to them by God, yet God continues to speak through his Catholic Church, the only church he has promised to bless and to keep, until the end of time.
Very insightful of you to have noticed!

Spiritual heritage began with God creating the Heavens and earth.
I think the shame comes from all the scandal in the Roman Catholic Church. (no offense)

I think because, after soooo many years, people started to become a little more aware.
They started to banish the roman catholic church for its ways.
Praying to Mary might have something to do with it.
Because she was fully human.
But you see, the same way most christians explain their reasons for praying at Jesus, Catholics explain themselves by saying Mary was the mother of God. Ofcourse shes gonna be respected.
Then ofcourse the roman catholics are the reason why we have something called secularism in the first place.
So its a combination of things.

Because it is a despitocal {despot} heritage, look at that history, the church was the wealthist, politically involved, bloodthirstyist in all religions of history. Of course it's a shameful heretical entitiy.

Just last night the believers in my group expressed the thought of being protected from shame.
Won't there always be church events/teachings/leaders that we disagree with?
Doesn't true faith ignore past wrongs, keep what is good and move on?
