I have been taking augmentin for five days for a sinus infection. Since yesterday, I have had a strange taste in my mouth. It sounds weird, but it almost tastes like hairspray (ladies, you know what I'm talking about - it tastes like if you get a bit of hairspray in your mouth when doing your hair in the morning). The taste is not constant, but comes and goes. It also does not go away if I am eating, drinking, or chewing gum. I have had sinus infections before, and have been on this medicine in the past. I am wondering if it's from the antibiotic?

Most likely it is. Some medications give you a metal taste in your mouth.

Probably...if it is worrying you you could call your doctor. I'm sure he would answer any questions you have.
