You are absolutely right. We wouldn't walk around with a little electric chair hanging around our necks now would we. We are to glorify Christ, not the instrument of torture he was murdered on.

Incidentally, Christianity is the only religion who's leaders tomb IS empty.

Personally I don't have a straight belief on this subject, although I do understand many Christians wear the crucifix as it reminds them of the pain and sorrow Jesus Christ of Nazareth had to undergo, just to relieve us of our sins. The empty tomb would be an excellent symbol to represent Christ is god, but under that, what else does it say? The cross on the other hand also tells a story that our Christ was crucified for us, at the same time with other 'criminals'. This shows just how much God really loves us and is willing to give up Christ for us, as well as allowing him to die in such a 'lowly' way.

That's a very good question. The tomb does represent the resurrection as well as the cross, but that's not the entire point.

Everything God does, He does according to the pattern of his throne. His throne appears in Ezekiel 1 and Revelation.

Before his throne are four living creatures, a man, an ox, an eagle and a lion. God is in the midst of the cheribim.

So the early earth was four rivers with Eden in the midst.

The children of Israel marched in the wilderness under four banners with the tabernacle in the midst.

The temple had four precincts or courts with the brass alter in the midst.

The ages appointed to this creation can be seen as following the same pattern, the age begun by Adam, the age begun by Isaac, the age began by Jesus and the Kingdom age begun by Emmanuel.

Jesus came in the midst of the four ages appointed to this creation. The cross has four arms which join at the center where Christ was placed.

The cross is the best symbol for Christianity.

I believe you've made a very good point. It wasn't a big deal that Jesus died on a cross. There were two thieves on crosses beside him but they didn't rise from the dead. That is the point of Christianity, not just that Jesus died for our sins, but that he also rose again and is still alive today.

I don't wear crucifixes anyway. I feel like they have become completely secular kind of like the fish symbol.

the cross is the guilt factor, the sacrifice made for you (which you didn't deserve anyway, and now you have to prove your worth) the tomb would represent the resurrection, which of course would symbolize hope, so they wouldn't promote the tomb because people with hope are truly free. it's all symbolic. they manipulate you on a subconscious level.

...I think because...
...on the cross is where all of our afflictions, sin, chastisement, and pain died, we were saved from them due to what happened on the cross, our curses were killed there, there's forgiveness at the cross along with a host of other facts...
...in that tomb, it was empty because God arouse Jesus from the dead and made him live AGAIN...
...you will not arise from anyone's death until and unless you accept Jesus Christ, accept him as Lord of your life and your Savior...
...think about it, if you don't know of the cross and what happened there, how will you truly grasp or know the concept and formula to receiving ever lasting life...

...in order to understand why the tomb was empty in the first place and what that even means you have to first know of the cross, the actual significance of it...

...you know what I mean?...

the crusifix nor the tomb have no meaning, and should not be worn as symbols. Jesus Christ before the Passover commanded us to break bread as a SYMBOL, that we are united to Him in one body, Drink wine as a SYMBOL of his blood which is the memory of his sacrifice. The problem with many people is that their faith is so deteriorated that they think that what they are doing is good. We must remember ITS NOT YOUR WAY --ITS NOT MY WAY----- ITS YAHWEY---GODS WAY.........

The work of redemption was carried out on the cross.

The empty tomb was simply the confirmation.

The crucifix isn't the symbol for Christ....it's just a reminder of his torture and death.

It's been the symbol for centuries.

True many criminals were executed by being nailed to a tree, and jesus was no exception. The only real claim he has to being a Deity, was when he pulled the old disappearing act.

Empty tomb it is. christians new MAN LAW, make a note of it please.
