Discuss it with your mother calmly and see why she gave the dog away. Either she doesn't want a dog, or she might want a different type.

I am very sorry. Look at why she gave the dog away. Who took care of the dog, you or your mother? If your mother did and you had promised faithfully to accept the responsibility of dog ownership, then wait until you are old enough to care for a dog properly before you get another one. I know it is a sad time for you and I am truly sorry.

It's very hard when a parent gets rid of a pet. It's also irresponsible on her part. The first thing you have to remember is that it's not acceptable for her to this and do not pick up her bad habit later on in life. A pet is a life long commitment. As far as trying to cheer yourself up I would recommend volunteering at a local animal shelter. This way you can help other animals that have been surrendered, abandon, neglected, or abused. It will make you feel good because you helped them out plus you get to play with lots of animals and one day maybe you can take one home to your own place. It really helped me when I first moved out of my parents house and couldn't have a pet yet. Now I rescue animals constantly and I have a dog and a cat that where both saved. Try to look to the future and good things will happen.

Why did she give your dog away? =(
You're going to be sad for awhile, as I was when we had to put my dog to sleep, but you will feel better as time progresses.
Just try to think happy thoughts; think of some fun times you had with your dog, but don't dwell on the memory of him too much.
Maybe you could get another pet, like a hamster or even a goldfish?
Turning your attention and giving your love to another living thing could help you cope.
I hope you feel better soon!

Well it depends, if your mother gave away your dog because you were irresponsible and couldn't take care of your dog that well, then that's a pretty decent reason to give your dog away.
If she did it because she is mean and cold-hearted, you could cuss her out and go get your dog back.....Okay that's a horrible answer, don't do that.

talk with your mom about it and tell her that your dog is your best friend because you talk to him or her and he or she hears you and that he will never cheat on you or do something that makes you sad
