I am 17. I chose Islam because i was given the English translation of the Quran from someone. It was the most beautyful peaceful book i ever read in my life and i then knew Islam is the true religion. It made alot of sense. I used to watch news and see it giving a very bad image of Islam. I talked to loads of people and everything was so confusing so i gave up until i was given the Quran. I just like to say you don't judge a religion by the actions of human beings. You look at the religion itself. You'll be amazed to look at Islam religion. Then i think no wonder Islam is fastest growing religion in the world.

If you have a local mosque you should go there and ask to speak to the Imam he will be able to give you the best advice. All you have to do to become a Muslim is declare your faith in front of two witnesses. The only things you give up are smoking, alcohol, pork, girlfriends and eating meat that is not Halal. I reverted to Islam over 2 years ago and it was the best thing i ever did. Insha Allah you will find the guidance and help you are looking for. It all seems a little daunting at first especially like me you where not raised Muslim but it all falls into place easy enough and truly you dont feel like you are giving anything up only gaining. Peace to you and Insha Allah will guide you to the straight path.

It is good to go to Imam sahib, but may not be obligatory. Any two adult-Muslims may hear your pronouncement, and you are a Muslim, instantly. A British Lady Journalist became a Muslim after long imprisonment by Taliban, 2 years later after her release. Her website is very informative She provides practical help and education. She is the author of the famous book:"In the Hand of the Taliban". * In my opinion, you are already a Muslim, after making it public on this forum. Except that you had to announce by introducung your name, not an id. You become a Muslim publicly. Best wishes for you! Salam.

Congratulations!!!!

I ABSOLUTELY agree with you. Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and I agree with you that it is REALLY MISUNDERSTOOD by the Western world and a lot of Americans see Islam only through extremist perspectives.

First of all, to become Muslim, go to your local mosque and speak with the sheik there to recite the "Shahadah", which is that you're testifying that you're a true Muslim and the sheik there will ask you some other questions and BOOOMMMM!!! lol. You're Muslim. =)

Congratulations !!! Welcome to Islam

Now u have entered Light from darkness

Its the western media responsible for portraying Islam in bad image. They are afraid of Islam.

" Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah. "
(Al-Qur'an 3 : 110)

" invite (all) to the way of thy Lord with wisdom & beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best & most gracious. "
Holy Qur'an (16:125)

Da`wah, i.e. conveying the message of islam to all around us, is a duty enjoined on every Muslim by Allah (swt).

Becoming a Muslim means giving up on Jesus Christ as the salvation to all sins and everlasting life.
I've been reading about Islam for months now, also knowing how to become one.
Listen child, stay to the true God. (Allah is not a correct translation of God, but means the name of an idol.)

omg, what the hell is wrong with you people, i bet if the original questionner had said he was converting to Christianity or Judaism you would have jumped for joy. You people have been so brain washed by the western media that you are no longer able to distinguish between your a s s and your elbow.
