Because you have a bunch of people who can't agree on Divinity in one place. It's intimidating at times, and I think if we haven't all asked a similar question to this, we've at least asked it to ourselves. I lurked for quite a while before actually answering anything here. The angst comes and goes, it seems to depend a lot on what time of day you're on... Dig through though, because despite all the chaff, there are actually some good points made here on all sides.

Why do you have to 'sense' angst here, when you can clearly see it?! And I don't believe this can surprise someone... After all, it is religion we're talking about, the next most important thing in the world, after food and drink!

I think it is because their are those who are serious and those who aren't.
And some people, me included, get pissed off at the people who ask
completely pointless or stupid questions.
