It sounds like acid reflux to me. Why don't you think that it is? It can be a very painful condition and sounds a lot like what you have. Just to be on the safe side don't eat for 2 hours before you lie down, and cut down on the fatty and spicy foods. Sometimes the easiest answer is the best.

You may be suffering with muscle spasms, possibly with trapped nerves (shoulder blade area). This can be very painful but hard to spot on any tests. Trust me, I've been there!
I also have acid reflux but the pain is usually mostly in the centre of my chest, around the bit where your ribcage joins. It is also possible that your lower stomach pains could be caused by Irritable Bowel Syndrome (extremely common), which causes spasms in your intestines (been there, again!). You may find muscle relaxants may calm things down. I wish you the best of luck and hope you are pain free soon. :-)
Best wishes,
Catwoman Alex.

Have you ever heard of the Mangosteen?

Perhaps the most widespread use of the mangosteen in folk medicine has to do with the gasto-intestinal system. The Xanthones, alpha and gamma mangostin, have been found to have both histimine and seratonin receptor blocking capacity. When seratonin is blocked in the gut, conditions of disordered motility like IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) should be affected favourably. The blocking of serotonin is also the reason mangosteen helps diorrhea sufferers.

In Europe, patients with diverticulitis (small pouches in the wall of the large bowel) take low-dose antibiotics several times a week to remain free of infection. Such frequent dosing, however, leaves them susceptible to bacterial resistance. It would seem reasonable to use mangosteen to provide the same protection without the problems of potential bacterial resistance that exists with the frequent use of antibiotics. This has been tested and the results are positive.

The mangosteen possesses potent anti-inflammatory qualities. Inflammation, whether acute or chronic, produces tissue swelling that can compress pain fibres in the areas where the swelling exists. Inflammation also causes the release of chemicals, which interact with free nerve endings to produce pain discharges that travel to the spinal cord and from there to the brain.
Reducing or eliminating inflammation through the anti-inflammatory effect of mangosteen juice prevents or removes both the pressure from swelling and the stimulus to produce pain mediators which stimulate nociceptoors (pain nerves).

Additionally, the COX-2 enzyme is constitutive (meaning present at all times) in the central nervous system ( CNS = brain, spinal cord, and cerebrospinal fluid). This enzyme is linked to the transmission of pain signals up the spinal cord to the brain. Presumptively the mangosteen inhibits the pain-related action of the COX-2 enzyme in the CNS and blocks pain impulse generation.

So yes, the mangosteen may significantly reduce any pain you might be experiencing.

It could be acid reflux, the way your nervous system sets out under your ribs mean if something is hurting you there, it can present as a referred pain upto your shoulder area.

What is the point in going to the doctor if you are not going to believe what they say to you?

If you dont believe or trust your docs judgement, seek second opinion, from another doctor, not here.

Wait for your CT scan results, but all of your symptoms combined with your history of hemophilia leads me to think you may have some sort of minor bleed in your abdomen. Blood in the abdominal cavity can cause irritation of the peritoneum and that pain can be referred to your shoulder and chest wall. This is a pretty serious situation which I doubt/hope you dont have. Hopefully the scan will answer some questions.
