I know this seems like an over-used question. My thing is...I was in one relationship before, and it was an emotionally abusive one. It was the only one I've ever been in. There is this guy that I really like, and I feel that I am now emotionally ready to be in a second relationship. I also want another realtionship. I know that this new guy would never hurt me, one of the reasons being that his father is my Sunday School teacher!! Another reason is that I am an aspiring opera singer, and unlike most guys my age, he is okay with this fact. I also trust this guy. So, the question remains...to ask or not to ask? If I should, how should I phrase that question?

I say go for it! You've got a keeper on your hands. He respects your interests, you know a little about him, plus know his family! Just go with your instincts and be calm and most importantly, always be yourself. Just casually ask him to see a movie or go to the mall with a group of friends if you decide to ask him. Good luck! <3

There's no harm in asking and it seems like no matter what he says the outcome will still be positive.
