MUSLIMS ONLY: How can 9yr old children CONSENT to marriage with 57 yr old men?

Muhammad was 57, and she was 9 when he forced her into marriage. Yes....the word is FORCED MUSLIMS!!! FORCED FORCED FORCED!!

How can a 9yr old consent to marriage anymore than a donkey can consent to sex with a sheik? See Muslims, children dont have FREEDOM. They are entirely DEPENDANT on their parents. In nature its the same, little cubs must stay close to their parents at all times because they are NOT YET MATURE ENOUGH TO GO IT FOR THEMSELVES.

Because children are DEPENDANT BEINGS WITHOUT FREEDOM they cannot make uncoereced choices. Furthermore, they are totally lacking the sufficient experience and knowledge necessary to make ADULT CHOICES!

Well just because that family is muslim doesn't mean that all muslims agree with these acts. Some people are just old fashioned and still think like 1400 years ago. As a muslim myself i find it disgusting and and don't agree with this kind of stuff. That man and the girls father are just plain sick, and have no morals. It is very perverted for a 47 year old man to even agree to marry an 8 year old. And what kind of father trades in his 8 year old to settle a debt? Well it is not a sane one. Islam does not allow anyone to be forced into a marriage. But can i ask that you provide a link? I would like to read this article.

How do you know how old Muhammad was? I'm not entirely sure, but I don't remember it being 57 for one thing. (or his significant other being 9 for that matter.) There are negative stories or assumptions about many religions though, not just Muslims as you seem to want to think. Ever hear about a denomination of Christianity called the Mormons? The last time I checked, one man being married to dozens of women, many of which were indeed underage at the time of the marriage, isn't decent either. (Like the case with the Muslim story, not all Mormons do this. In fact, again, the majority don't.)

How can be rape when she consented? There are 9 year old little girls havin' babies right now as we speak. Look around, dude. The reason why Ayesha married Muhammad was because Allah himself ordained it. She CHOSE to marry him by consenting. She technically didn't have to but because she was a good Muslim she chose to. Remember the society and cultural differences as well - seems you've forgotten those two very important tidbits. Life expectancy then was obviously not what it is today. Girls matured emotionally and also physically at a rate different than today. And actually now today here in the USA they are actually becoming more and more mature in every way just like back then. Amazing how things repeat themselves... :)
One other example is the middle eastern and African countries today. My husband's mother was married when she was just 12 years old. Her husband was about 10 years older than she was. The marriage was consumated when she was in her teens. Now in my husband's generation they do tend to marry when a bit older due to better education and wanting that first. Hey, the world changes.
And yes I believe in every single word of the Quran because it was given to Muhammad by Allah Almighty.

Trying to apply OUR current ideas about "age of consent" or "marriageable age" to far past situations is silly. And in the days of arranged marriages, many people "married" as virtual children (in order to join families), but the marriage wasn't consummated until the kids came of age.

In many countries, right now, girls can marry at a younger age than boys.

And did you know there right now, in the United States, it's perfectly legal for a girl of 14 to marry (with parental consent) in some states?

Some states don't even HAVE a statutory minimum age.

That was the practise in those days. I was reading Rabindernath Tagore's novel, Just in the 1900, people were marrying their 9 and 10 year old off, both hindus and Muslims. My mother got married when she was only 15. Her sister got married at 13.
In Christian religion, Lot slept with her daughters, was it lot.
Moses's brother killed the husband of the woman he was sleeping with. What is worse sleeping with your own daughter and killing the husband because u are committing adultery,

Yes he married her at her earily age. He was a prophet and he was motivated by social and political factors. However; her age still is unknown some says she was 9 other 14 or 18.
But he loved her and he died in her arms, he was her husband. And if you already opened the subject of rape and being force what about child sexual abuse? I've seen statistics and they are not decreasing..But oh well as long as they are not married it's ok

a wrong state here "FORCED FORCED FORCED!!" uhh no, there is no force in islam. and this was 1400 years ago, everyone married around the ages of 9-19. and his wife married when she was 14 not nine. and he was younger than 57 but i'm not quite sure the age.. it was a long time ago ok? the tradition with everyone was like that. since women hit puberty at the young age, they married at a younger age. it only makes sense. it definitly shows here that you haven't even read the Qur'an properly. and the woman he married was much mature than most people. she had lots of knowledge and was very aware of everything!! it's not "RAPE RAPE RAPE" because it doesn't have anything to do with that. so yes i'm following you, you're completely WRONG WRONG WRONGG!!!! try researching before you know anything ok?? and yes, in this time it is best to marry when we're adults becuase this isn't 1400 years ago!!

Fatima was five years older than Aisha. Fatima is reported to have been born when Muhammad was 35 years old. Muhammad migrated to Medina when he was 52, making Aisha 14 years old in 1 AH.

Neitehr Muhammad (pbuh) was 57 nor Aisha(ra) was 6 when they married.
there is no fix evidence regarding the age of Aisha(ra)as there are many traditions.according to some she was 9 when Nikah(Islamic marriage) took place .but she did not move until the age of 12 (and in some traditions ,until the age of 16)with Muhammad(pbuh) as a wife.maximum scholars agree that aisha(ra) was 14 at the time of marriage as Muhammad's(pbuh) daughter was 5 years older than ayesha(ra) and when Fatimah(ra) was born MUhammad (pbuh)was 35 years old and when Muhammad (pbuh)migrated to madina(where he married ayesha(ra) he was 52 yearsold).


even if we consider her as 12 years old, when she moved with the prophet(pbuh) as a wife she was one of the most learned woman of arabia ,Muslims consulted her for the religious and social affairs (the practice which she continued the rest of her life).which clearly shows that she was a mature woman at the time she was married and also we know from teh history that the age of getting married ,specially for women in the past ages was way less than what it is now as they used to get matured(reaching the age of marriage) sooner .

Whoa, whoa, whoa...stop jumping to conclusions and making assumptions on certain things that you can't even verify.

A lot of this that you said here is NOT TRUE. First of all, Muhammad did not have sex with her when she was nine. Secondly, Islam does not justify rape or anything like that. Thirdly, Muhammad did NOT marry her when she was nine. Both families met and they gave their consent that she would marry him when she comes of age, which was a common custom in the olden days. Fourthly, Muhammad was NOT 57.

I suggest you actually do some real research and justify what you have to say, because this is not true.
