My sweet cat girl has gotten quite chubby (yes, we're putting her on a diet). I know whiskers help a cat determine if it can squeeze through narrow spaces. I'm wondering if she is benefiting from her whiskers as much now that she has a more buxom form.

Yes. Cats use their vibrassae (whiskers) to gauge the width of gaps. Whiskers also help cats find their way in total darkness; cats can feel air currents around objects with their whiskers. As your cat gets larger, the whiskers grow longer to accommodate her wider frame. Fat cats have longer whiskers than thin ones.

they do no longer wreck off flush they only get pushed out via new ones and on the commencing up of improve they're small on the top as they improve longer they thicken until they have a brilliant end on the basis, and whiskers improve is set via the cats genetic make up, so they are no longer consistently growing to be they're being consistently replaced, and alongside with the cats genetic build they only improve in share with the size of the cat, nature is clever do no longer you think of because it gets it basically appropriate! wish this answer facilitates.

yes, it's kind of a radar thing. she knows how big she is and knows through her whiskers if she can fit. bes get he on a diet because the whisker thing isn't the bigges problem. besides many health issues, you better hope she can still turn around and clean herself. not joking. cats are very clean, and if they can't do this to themselves, you'll end up with a very nasty rear end!

Yes, because it helps them determine how much room they have, this is because a cats' eye sight is not very good so they have whiskers to accomodate. Hope this helps!
