I have had cats who love to play with q-tips. Recently, I found out that they love to play with the plastic rings that come off plastic half-gallon milk and juice containers. Catnip "stuffed" toys can be a waste of money. I used to find small, catnip scented mice that my cats went nuts over. Recently I bought a package of little mice. They were covered in a floral print. They got no reaction from the cats. You can purchase catnip and sprinkle it on the floor or make your own toys.

An old sock full of catnip.

A bunch of bird feathers tied together with string.

Some yarn or a jingle ball on the end of a long, fairly stiff wire (cat dancer).

A paper bag! Poke a tiny whole at the bottom of a paper bag and lay it on it's side. OMG! They are so funny. They will take of running and slide into it. If they don't at first stick your finger in it and wiggle it around..........my cat used to love it.

Even balled up paper, throw it on the floor and they will run after it swatting it all arcoss the house.

My cats like anything that moves on its own once they give it the first push, like plastic rings that come off milk jugs that roll around on the floor. They also like Christmas Ornaments, everyday I came home from work, they had knocked half of them off the tree and were chasing them around the room *LoL* Also, try balls of aluminum foil, and paper bags...they have a ball with that kind of stuff! Good Luck!

I, myself, am just in love with cats. As mentioned before good places for reasonable prices are Wal-Mart, dollar stores...etc. For a long lasting toy your best bet would be Wal-Mart. Sometimes you can find reasonable prices on stuff at PetsMart.
