Who is to say? God is a mystery to man. Just call Him God, and when you write the pronoun "he" referring to God, remember to use a capital H (He).

God doesnt literally need a name because he is simply the God of all creation and there is none like him. We need a name to distinguish us because we are all human and all sinners. Did God ever share a name with us? The Jews basically used an anogram YHWH which literally meant "to be" or "i am." Perhaps based on Moses' encounter with God. That would make sense since Moses is the author of the book stretching farthest back in history. I dont believe literally God has a name. All names we have of God descend from Jewish beliefs and transliterations, or just simply nicknames.

"I am that I am" or "I will be what I will be". "Ehyeh asher ehyeh" in Hebrew.
Also known as the tetragrammaton JHVH, YHVH, or YHWH all three based on possible pronunciations of the ancient Hebrew. Ehyeh may have had a soft J or Y sound at the beginning. This leads to multiple modern pronunciations:
Jehovah, Yahweh, and anything in between.
The Y or J are possible pronunciations of ancient Hebrew letters and/or their combinations such as in Latin where ii = ji or vv = wu.

God in my opinion is not a person, but an energy. Just like a sun, huge, powerful, comforting, and dangerous. It is up to us to decide in what way we believe in God, but in the end God will be the creator or the prtector a being we can not survive without.

God referred to himself as "I AM" to indicate that he is God and only he is God. A name is just what word we use to refer to or address someone. God is referred to by many names that reveal something about his character. He is called "Creator," "Counselor," "Almighty God," "Everlasting Father," "Prince of Peace," "The All-Sufficient One," "The Provider," "The King of Kings," "The Lord of Lords," "The Beginning and the End," "The Eternal One" and on and on and on . . .
