All drunk drivers should go to jail regardless of the outcome of their actions. The fact that someone died only makes it a more tragic outcome. But every time a drunk gets behind the wheel of their vehicle they are endangering someone else's life (and yes their own as well). Even with all the education out there and the negativity directed by the public toward the problem people continue to drink and drive. Convict them and lock them all up. Then they have to deal with the fallout because now they have a criminal record.

Yes they should go for a long time.I have watched people get hit by a drunk driver. It was head on.I know it was a family but did not get all the info.I just watch people from the street kick the drunks @ss while people helped the injured.I do know a baby was not expected to live.I watched a 5 year old get hit on a sidewalk infront of his house.Drunk lost control and went up on sidewalk. The lil one died.Almost everyday I hear of a drunk killing people. If they can charge a teenager and lock them up until they are 18-21 for stabbing someone with a pencil and labeling that pencil as a deadly weapon then why cant they lock a drunk up and label his/her car as a deadly weapon? Alot of drunks gets into several accidents before they are locked up for 1-5 years and slapped on their hand then released.Suspending their licence is not good enough. They still drive.

Yes, in my personal opinion, I do. The person should've known better than to drive under the influence of alcohol. The pedestrian was the real victim here! They had a family, friends, and most likely others that they held close to their hearts! Now that innocent soul is in its final resting place. Hopefully, they were already saved....or that drunk driver sent them strait to Hell! How old was this person anyways? Nobody deserves to die like that!

Um, I think you read the opposite of what "voice of" was saying. If your mom was killed, I think you probably want the driver punished right?

In other words, yes!!!! The driver should be accountable for driving drunk and killing someone!!!!!!

Yes.
If you can afford to be out drinking, you can afford a taxi. There's NEVER a reason to drink & drive!

Duh. That's almost a rhetorical question.

The answer is a resounding OF COURSE.

I know accountability is a foreign concept these days, but come on.
