Mariah Carey was performing at the grammys last night and she looked like she was going to break down and start crying over the breakup song she was singing about. Why cant women just brush it off and get over it. Besides, they are the ones who usually break if off, anyways.

I don't think that performance was particularly about women being emotional. In Japan, when a singer goes on stage to perform, they have to create a mood, so the way they sing the song and the emotions they express with facial expressions, movements and harmonics make a big part of their live performance.
She was probably just being over-emotional for the sake of performance.

Well I didn't see her perform but keep in mind that performers of all types are generally drama-queens, so they turn up the tears a notch on stage.
I was watching a documentary on sex change operations (i am going somewhere with this) and men who were changing to women and taking female hormones reported a weakened ability to control their emotions. Likewise, women taking testosterone in high concentrations said they were better able to put aside feelings of upset to concentrate on the task at hand. Really, I believe some of it is a biological thing, our brains are wired differently based on hormones, etc. For example, before a woman gets her period, she tends to be even MORE emotional than normal. Why??? Surges of estrogen, etc. Women often ask why men are so aggressive... All the testosterone.
However, I will add this...society conditions men to shut off their feelings more or at least not show them. Men aren't supposed to cry... When little girls cry they are indulged in it, you know, everyone says,'ooohhh it'll be ok' and that stuff which reinforces that crying can get you what you want, etc. Society just reinforces and exacerbates what biology predisposes us to.

Not every woman is always about to cry all the time, for your information. And some have imbalances, I suspect Mariah is one of them. Keep in mind, too, that she could just be one of those performers who gets really really into their music, kind of like how actors sometimes try to live like the people they are portraying, to make it more realistic. But either way, those who are emotional usually have a reason to be that way. Cut them some slack, sometimes just giving them a little time to get over it is all that is needed.

The women who are emotional it is because the care. If they were to just brush it off like it is nothing means that is exactly what it was to them nothing. Until you have TRULY LOVED YOU WON'T KNOW WHAT IT FEELS LIKE.. When you are talking about Mariah Carey allot of hers probably could have to do with the fact that she is preforming .

women are so emotional cuz alot of things matter and women don't think by using their muscles they use thier hearts and follow them and that why women are smarter beacuse they follow their hearts to the right path.they are emotional because its like they are the only ones who show more emotion than anger like men,they wanna show that there is more to the world that violence and they are the ones who can hold men down cuz if a woman starts crying a man is there to comfort her and he's not running off anywhere trying to fight anyone. so they are emotional beacuse they follow their hearts and we do it sometime to protect our men it weird i kno but u have to be a woman to understand this stuff

its called estrogen...its a chemical that females have more of then guys which make them naturally more emotional...not all are overly emotional tho...u cant judge the whole woman population on mariah carey

Why are so men so insensitive and careless is what i'd like to know.
And to answer your question its cause of estrogen, makes people care about life and other living things and have actual feelings cause we arent robots

Hormones mostly - empathy and feelings help nurture the young, so it is a species survival mechanism.
Men are cold and unemotional and lacking empathy so they can kill easily, it is a species survival mechanism.
