My bulldog is 8 years old. She was fully potty trained within about a year. The BEST way came from praise. Bulldogs are extremely people orientated. He wants nothing more than to make you happy, I promise. Take him outside frequently at first. Follow him outside. THE MINUTE he potties, start clapping and saying yea! yea! Then rush him inside the house and give him a treat. This teaches him two important lessons. 1) it makes you happy when he potties outside and 2) the purpose of going outside is to potty. Over time take him outside less frequently. Do not give him a treat if he does not go! Pretty soon he'll start sitting by the door when it's time to potty because he'll have learned he has to go outside for htat! It's ok to scold him for messing in the house ONLY IF YOU CATCH HIM IN THE ACT.

Crate training is great. Bulldogs are VERY stubborn. they will only do something if they think something in it for them. You'll have to take him out every hour and take treats out with you. Give him a command to go (I use 'go pee") and when he does tell him how good he is and give him the treat right there. After a week you can space more time between outings like maybe 2 hours then the next week 3 hours and so on. Eventually he'll get the hint. But you'll have to stock up on lots of treats and be very consistant. Bulldogs are hard to break from bad habits and it will take some time. When he does go in the house, shame him by telling him no, and saying what did you do, in a very mean tone. Bulldogs only EVER want to please their owners as they are big sucks and if he knows how upset you are, he'll get the hint. I hope this works out for you.

Keep up the kennel training but until he is trained don't put the bed in there with him. If he has been fine except for that one accident, then what would you identify as the problem? Was he in the kennel for too long? Or did he have diarrhea from upset stomach which would cause him to be unable to hold it?
Some English Bulldogs have sensitive stomachs and they also like to eat twigs, rocks, and just about whatever they put in their mouths when they go outside. If your dog is used to doing that, and upset stomach was the cause of the accident then that is what you need to fix.
Something you can give him is a few tablespoons of pumpkin pie filling, unseasoned. Comes in a can and helps keep them regular and helps settle their tummy.

You can also tie the dog to your waistband with a leash so you can supervise him instead of always having him in the crate. Most dogs are housetrained in about 2 weeks (especially the larger breeds if you are consistent). Also, if he continues to have accidents you should take him to the vet to make sure he doesn't have any infections.

at 9 months of age you have a difficulty, it is not frequent for a GSD to no longer be homestead experienced via this age. Are you valuable he's not marking? Marking is frequently close to or on a wall, urinating is frequently interior the the middle of the room. Can he get exterior via himself or does he would desire to tell you and you open the door? if so, he won't understand the thank you to get your interest to permit you realize. you may carry a bell close to the door and each time you're taking the canine exterior ring the bell first, the canine will right this moment learn how to ring the bell. Your canine isn't doing this to make you offended, he may be doing it simply by fact his too scared to tell you that he needs to circulate if he can no longer get exterior himself. i'd take him to the vet first and get him regarded at for problems, it would desire to be scientific. he's hiding considering you're yelling and he can experience your anger. Do you plenty times get offended? He sounds as though he's not too valuable of you simply by fact the owner. the two way, that's no longer commonly for a GSD this age, all my GSD have been one hundred% lavatory experienced via 5 months, so this is the two scientific, undesirable education on your section, him fearing you so he can no longer inform you. prepare him to circulate on command, take him exterior each hour and supply him your verbal command, IF he is going then say your command paintings (circulate potty) & supply him a severe high quality foodstuff cope with as quickly as he's finished including a sliver of sausage and thousands of compliment. this would re enforce his lavatory education and additionally make it much less annoying considering you additionally could make him circulate in case you prefer too.

the way Ive house trained all my pets is i never give them the chance to use the bathroom in the house in the first place. take him outside after hes done eating or drinking or anytime you think he might have to go to the bathroom. when he goes outside give him lots of praise and maybe even treats. pretty soon he'll get the hang of it. if you see him scratching at the door or trying someway to tell you he needs out don't forget to reward him for that.
