ex. I got a dui almost 5 years ago, will an insurance company look at my record from the past 5 years or longer? How many years from your dui do they hold it against you?

Everything on your MVR falls off after 5yrs. in most states. The only time it would follow you longer, is if you needed a certificate of financial responsibility(ex:SR-22). In which case, that will stay on your record until you have had a valid driver's license for 2yrs continuously.

Hope this helps!

It depends on the state, however, for insurance purposes most states go back three years. If it is for an employer checking the driving status of an employee, I believe it will go back as far as 10yrs. again depending on the state you live in. Contact your local DMV for accurate info.
