i have always gone to the dentist, had braces(4extractions(, twice a year cleanings, the works. about a decade ago had root canals done which later caused blood infection and wound up having four extractions. then about 5 years ago got tmj from car accident and lost two more teeth. basically now i dont have any back teeth. my top and bottom fronts are fine visibly but are starting to wear down. also student chipped front tooth, nursery not on purpose. ive gotten partial dentures but they are very uncomfortable and heavy metal and make my tmj worse than ever. im at point where am considering full dentures. i would consider full mouth implants but was told nerves too low to gum line(need to go for second opinion) but im not sure i can invest any more money or pain on my mouth. im in my 30's.full mouth implants anywhere from 17.000 to 25.000 after way about 50thousand of a lifetime of dental work. i dont know what to do. i cant afford it, and its affecting me in a very awful way.

I am 30 and have had 4 root canals, need 3 or 4 more right now (I'm in increasingly worse pain--some family members say this is genetic but I've had bad habits in the past). I currently have 7 crowns but need 2 replaced and 3 or 4 new ones very soon. I'm missing one tooth and may need another pulled (an accident when I was 12). I feel depressed everyday about my teeth so I understand how you feel. I've been trying to find someone to talk to about my problems, someone who can relate, but no one my age seems to have this problem--only people in their 50s and 60s!
What I can tell you is that you should keep the teeth you have. People have a hard time with dentures, especially lower ones because your tongue always pushes against them and if they don't fit right they move around a lot. If you have good teeth left, keep taking good care of them, continue regular checkups, and find out if you can gradually get some implants in the back, or a different type of partial. Go to different dentists and see what they say because some dentists are either not aware of new options or are too lazy to implement the technology in their office (or they use a cheap lab that doesn't use new technology) so they don't explain all of your options.
I know it's hard to deal with this. But I think it'll be even harder if you "jump ship" and get all your teeth pulled.

It is such a shame dentistry is so expensive.....implants are still kinda dicey (my opinion from observation) frankly I would go for the denture idea. Good Luck...chewing food is an under rated but very important thing...GD LUCK to YOU!!

I would hold off untill you get good dental insurance and then get all the work done that you can under that plan. Sometimes dental hygiene is hereditary but sometimes it is habits so make sure to watch what you eat and floss what you got.

Most guys I've...uu-hum "identified", like enamel. Just a bit. I'd say eighty% do. Edit: Crap! I notion this used to be P&S. Well, I'll hold my reply and upload...Of the women handiest 25% did.
