That should have been discussed before you walk out the door, but obviously the friend should pay unless you're paying as a treat to them. If you don't say a word before you leave, guess what? You have the check.

That depends on how old the kids are, I guess. My kids are 9 and 11 and I always pay for their friends meals when they go to dinner with us.

If you invite them to come with you, then you should pay. If they ask if they can come with you or ask you to take them out, you should make arrangements ahead of time about who will pay.

It also depends on their age - if they are under 16 or full-time students without jobs, they probably don't have the means to pay for their own dinners, and if you aren't willing or able to pay, you should discuss it with their parents ahead of time. If they are older kids, you can talk to them about the fact that you can't pay for their dinner all the time, and if they'd like to come with, they'll need to pay for their own.

Do you mean you are taking your kids friends out with you? If so then seeing as though you asked them then you pay. As a parent though, if my child was asked out I would offer the money just to be polite, as everyone seems to have different ideas on this. I took my sons friend out with us when we went to lunch, the mum offered money but I said no as It was my choice to take him.

when i was a kid i'd go out to dinner with my friends every friday and my mom would give me money to give to them, and when they would go out with us they did the same. it was just a mutual thing since it was every week.

usually if u invite them they assume its your treat unless u stated otherwise. if nothing is talked about and u both agree to go out then each family should pay from themselves
